As a Dutchy living in the UK, my wife couldn't have been happier today to discover the HEMA in Birmingham. Great selection of goods, super friendly staff
I love this place but I love the Netherlands so it allows me a little fix me up when I'm missing all things Dutch. The coffee pods are highly recommended! Great price and great flavour. The cheese is really good too and better than buying a sliver of old Amsterdam for the same price in Tesco. Basically this is a Dutch shop, it's all imported from the Netherlands, it's great prices for when you miss the Netherlands.
Their sweet section is great, I always find myself going back just to stock up on my sweeties. Simple nougat and chocolate covered nougat are my favourites! Store is never too busy either, won't be missing your train standing in the queue.
I absolutely love the jellybeans, they are dope. The aesthetic makes me happy but I recently purchased an umbrella that literally broke before I even opened it then continued to fall completely apart in two days of use so I worry about the sturdiness of their physical goods. Food is still top notch though.
I happened to enter this place just on chance, I found to be a very very cute gift store. There are actually a lot of things I would buy from here if I was organising a party. There are a lot of cute items like gift bags and things that you could buy and just keep handy at home. There are quite a few things you could buy for parties and gifting
I always order my filter coffee online with them and use the collect service to get them it's free and only normally takes a couple of days.they do lots of different things in here from kitchenware to confectionery.definetly worth a look.
When I was working in the Netherlands a few years ago, I visited a number of HEMA outlets. They are great for toiletries, gifts, home design items, chocolate/sweets etc. The store is well located in Birmingham's Grand Central and easily accessible with long opening hours. Staff were polite, knowledgeable and assisted me with my enquiries. I always receive great service whenever I 'pop-in'.
During lockdown ordering snacks from the Hema was essential for keeping myself and my family in good spirits, there are always a great range of snacks, and gift ideas for the home to check out here. The Stroop waffles are particularly tasty!
