This campground is beautiful. There is a good atmosphere, the sanitary facilities are fantastic and very clean and the view is breathtaking. But to enjoy it even more during your visit, you should know the following. As a foreigner I could not pay online. I arrived at the campsite after a long drive and was asked to pay immediately. I was not allowed to enter the field until I had paid cash. I was really not welcome before. Second: the sanitary is closed from 10:45 am. It is really locked for about 5 quarters of an hour; you can't get in anymore. I myself had a stomachache and really had to use the toilet. Long story short: I was absolutely not allowed to use the toilet, despite my stomachache. I was directed to the public restroom in town, a 15 minute drive away. I look back on a wonderful time here, but the above things are important to know. Actually worth 5 stars, but I'll give 3.
This campsite is in the most STUNNING location!!! Pack extra layers for night though, we didn't anticipate the cooler temperatures that come at night from being at a higher elevation! The campsite facilities are so well maintained and wonderfully clean, most importantly the showers are absolutely lovely and SO hot, just what you need when camping. We will be recommending this site and hope to stay again soon.
This campsite was absolutely gorgeous and the hosts were amazing. They were quick to arrange everything we need even though we were a last minute booking. The place was absolutely lovely with a great view and thanks to the hosts, we had a really good time. They were even kind enough to plan the next day for us. If you are looking for a place to camp with your friends or family, look no further.
My friends and I booked to stay here the night before hiking up Pen Y Fan, the campsite is very affordable and extremely well facilitated. The toilet and shower blocks are incredibly clean and well maintained. This is the second time that I've camped here and both times we've received exceptional service, been greated by the very friendly manager and had a lovely time both times. I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone coming to the area either to relax or to hike and climb! Thanks for another lovely visit.
Great campsite with amazing views towards the Beacons. Clean well maintained facilities, friendly helpful staff, fire pits for hire, easy access to the hills and Brecon, just great. Slightly spoilt by the 3 people in the next tent who watched the stars and chatted loudly until 2am, but that's not the fault of the owners. Unfortunately some people don't care about campsite manners!
Not sure why the previous reviews are so negative! Myself and my partner wanted a night away in Brecon and we were far from disappointed! Arrived around 2:30pm and greeted by a friendly gentleman who went through the campsite details, gave us some recommendations on where to go for dinner and directed us where to pitch up. The camping field provided the most beautiful views - and the best spot for star gazing! The bathroom facilities are clean and not too far away - well positioned so they don’t disturb other campers. We will definitely be returning as this spot is a real gem and very reasonably priced for what you get. Make sure you try the pies at The Brecon Tap - they are divine!
Breath-taking scenery and the peace and quiet to enjoy it with a limit of 13+. Perfect location, nicely spaced out camping areas. Immaculate facilities and nothing too much trouble for the owners. Clear communication about cleaning schedules and check out time with the option to stay later. Thank you
Do not stay at this campsite. I have reported this business to Trading Standards. The owner, Mr Williams was extremely aggressive towards myself and my partner. As a young woman, I felt intimidated by his shouting and threatens of legal action against me. The way that both of the owners behaved towards us was utterly shocking to me, I have personally never experienced anything like it. The owners often reply to bad reviews defensively and claim ‘no one with that name’ stayed at the campsite but I can assure you, I unfortunately did stay at this campsite for 1 of the 2 nights I had booked. There are other lovely campsites in the area that deserve your money more than this one. As Mr and Mrs Williams will likely reply to this review defensively, twisting the truth, please just have a look at all of their other replies to negative reviews to see what type of people run this campsite. This review is my own personal opinion. I have never left a bad review before but despite this experience happening last July, I still can’t forget about how I was made to feel on that day by Jeremy and Bethan. AVOID!!
A clean and spacious campsite in a stunning location overlooking the hills. Excellent shower and toilet block. 2 miles out of Brecon the pub 1 mile away has closedRooms: 5/5
All round 10/10. Outstanding facilities, always immaculate, showers have good pressure and the water temp is not an issue. Run by a lovely couple who clearly want the best for their customers. Any time I return to Brecon Beacons I will be sure to stay at Cefn Cantref!
