This youth hostel is situated below Talybont Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It serves full English breakfast for everyone and is a lovely place to stay in.

Youth Hostels are generally operating to a high standard. What was special about my stay here was the staff. They were lovely. Helpful and pleasant. Provision of a breakfast bag for my 0530 departure was specially appreciated. Kept me going most of the day! Thank you.

Lovely friendly hostel in a beautiful location. Others are prettier/less tired inside, but that's not really a priority as a base for good walks/rides on a beautiful part of the world. Be warned, the access road over the dam floods in heavy rain, but apparently not deep enough to stop a determined person getting there!

We camped in the grounds of the hostel and were allowed to use the lounge and self catering facilities. We had a lovely time, the kitchen was well equipped, the lounge was cosy was spacious and the guests were all friendly. The staff were polite and very helpful with the few questions we asked. Overall I'd highly recommend staying at this delightful hostel which is surrounded by stunning Brecon scenery

Wonderful location, especially if you're wanting to climb pen y fan. We camped but had full use of the indoor facilities - communal kitchen and lounge, as well as toilets and showers. The drying room was also very handy! And all this for an excellent price. Ideal.
