My go to golf course. As a beginner, I find this course brilliant. For me it isn’t too challenging but can still punish you enough for a wayward tee shot. The practice nets and putting green are decent enough. It’s not up there with some of the council courses in Fife but it’s good value for money if you stay in Edinburgh and get the golf membership through Edinburgh Leisure
Lots of long fairways mixed in with a few short holes thrown in for good measure. Greens looked after and the course is generally well maintained. I would have marked higher but the experience is affected by some dog walkers who like to stroll across the fairways.
I walk my dogs here. It's a beautiful walk when you go all the way round the circumference. Keep the dogs to the side if golfers are preparing to hit that ball. Lovely and quiet normally but crazy crowded due to lockdown.
A well maintained course in Edinburgh £24 for 18 but definitely not the best. The course is a bit boring and runs back and forth so the holes are very forgettable. It's super flat though so if you don't want to walk up any hills play here. Otherwise venture over to Braid Hills which in my mind is 100 times better!!
I would have given 5stars if the game hadn’t been spoiled by all the dog walkers walking wherever they want !!some not picking up GET OFF THE COURSE !! It’s not a park ! Or stay out at the perimeter It’s a golf coursewhich all told is pretty enjoyable greens were good and the course although not too hard is a nice game of golf, clubhouse quite nice and welcoming with nice drinks and food
Very forgiving golf course only reason I didn't give it a four stars is the fairway between some holes were extremely muddy but it was good to play on.
Nice parkland course. Fairly wet under foot right now but that's not surprising. Able to use all 18 proper greens albeit some of which were very damp. Good mixture of par 3s, 4s and 5s
For a public course, Carrick Knowe is very well maintained, and full credit to the green staff. The course is flat, and even though it's tree lined, it's a forgiving course.
Great course for practicing drives. Very straightforward course. Course in good condition and the staff are great. It would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the dogwalkers and people who jump on the course at the third hole.
Best Edinburgh council course. They do well to maintain this with limited resources so I've no problem with some untidy bits.
