Hospital asked me to get my dressing changed every 1-2 days to minimise the risk of infection after a minor op. Carmel Medical couldn't find any time slots for 3 days and then insisted it would be a repeat prescription as they need to order-in the items?? Just needed 10mins to clean and re-bandage with qualified Practice Nurse not even GP. Surely they have such basic medical items to hand? Rubbish service and then no easy way to follow-up any compliant on-line.

I can't fault this surgery doctor penney is lovely and always been able to sort my problems out.

I visited Dr penney about my aching joints on my knees .He got very aggressive .And raised his voice saying there are people dying of cancer and your worried about your legs Absolutely stupid i can only think it was for some other reason may be he heard about my previous complaint and thought i was wasting NHS time .Well i am a God fearing person and feel it is my moral duty .So how dare he cast assertions on my integrity .He said so you think you know more about Medicine than me.Well i never thought that .And he must think he can out philosophise me because he is a doctor that will be the day..

quite possibly the most impossible surgery to make an appointment. They use an 0844 number which costs a fortune from a mobile and given its a non-geographic number, it is not included in many land line call bundles, so you will pay at least 5p per minute to make your appointment. the average length of call by experience is 6-12 minutes depending on the time of day you call, and the minimum it takes to join the appointment queue is almost 2 minutes. NHS guidance was issued some time ago for surgeries to resume standard geographic numbers, however Carmel Medical Practice choose to disregard this guidance and the view and opinions of their patients. It is also very difficult to make an appointment with a specific doctor, as they have an infuriating method of releasing appointments, or shall i say not releasing blocks of appointments. I was a patient at this practice for 25 years, then moved out of the area. I resumed care at this practice two years ago and have felt the need to change surgeries, to one that actually is patient focussed, and not statistically and financially driven. When i called my new practice I was taken aback when the phone was answered by a receptionist within 3 rings, (a standard geographic number) and I was given a suitable appointment slot with the doctor of my choice.
