Story

The Caprice is a family run restaurant in the historical town of Musselburgh. We specialise in a Italian Swiss cuisine, with almost 50 years experience.
Our Succulent pizzas are cooked in the traditional manner, in a Wood Fired Oven to give them that extra taste of quality. Each pizza is treated with special care. Dough is freshly made on the premises every day. Even the wood used, Scottish Pine, is chosen because it adds the required flavour which lets you know you are enjoying a genuine freshly baked pizza. You can of course see our pizzas being carefully prepared and baked while you waiting for your order, and there are 21 delightful recipes to choose from.

Staying nearby and found this place whilst passing through Musselburgh. Very glad we stopped to try this authentic Italian takeaway / restaurant. Pizza was very tasty, base itself was light and fluffy, toppings were of good quality. Pasta was excellent - the meatballs just melt in the mouth. They were able to accommodate with gluten free pasta which is a bonus as not many places can do this. Price was very reasonable and good value for money. Customer service is great, very quick to respond to questions via social media prior to ordering. Good setup as there’s a separate entrance to collect orders. Highly recommend, will definitely order again when next in the area! Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!!
Known this place since I was a small kid but never visited. Glad we did, great little place lovely staff and tasty food.
It’s just so unbelievably inconsistent. I would go much more often, but they just don’t get it right often enough for me. I ordered two takeaway pizza’s over the weekend both were soggy and almost impossible to separate from the box. It’s just not good enough. A couple of weeks ago we got the same order and it was perfect. Also, I would prefer they didn’t wait till you arrive to cook your pizza, it just means you always have to wait, you can’t order ahead and collect as soon as you arrive, perhaps this would reduce them rushing the cooking of Pizza’s.
Went here for our anniversary and could not recommend more! The food is the best in Musselburgh and the staff were very friendly - special mention to Jean-Claude who made the night very memorable : would highly recommend for any special occasion

We love this restaurant. It's the first time we've had half and half a plate with half pasta and half pizza . Book a table to avoid disappointment as they can get very busy.Food: 5/5
I was brought up in Musselburgh and used to love the caprice. This was my first time back in many years and it didn't disappoint. Food was still as good - love their pizza . Good atmosphere - even in these times! Lovely friendly staff. Can't wait to return

A lovely dinner at Caprice on Friday 4th November. Great service, nice venue and fantastic food. Had the arancini and squid to start followed by the half-and-half pizza and pasta option. Great value for the meal - would highly recommend.
Terrible experience with 4 dips put on top of pizza in in the box god knows were the dips have been lying around and topping all destroyed luke warm spoke with owner and showed no interest or wanted to resolve the issue handed pizza back and to find out wasn't even givin back to restaurant to see plus waited over 1 hour 30mins to receive that kind of food which is disgusting will never ever order again
