The David Macbeth Moir opened its doors on the 14th February 2012. Named after David Macbeth Moir, a Scottish physician and writer, the pub was previously a bingo hall and before that, a cinema. This has inspired the interior decor, which has hints of Rennie Macintosh and our toilets have been awarded platinum status by the local council

My first meal in the UK! Very clean and nice atmosphere to try my first pudding and beans on toast. I am a Yank, so I would much rather have butter and jam on the toast....how did this bean tradition start anyway? The pudding was interesting, the flavor was rich. Overall the food was good and I would definitely visit here again.
Nice place, decent food and service. For what you pay, it’s great value for money.
It’s well located along the Main StreetnThis historical building is well preserved and beautifully decoratednStaff are welcoming and friendly during our visit
It depends on your tastes. The food and drink is reasonably priced. It's not gourmet cuisine but well made and presented.nPersonally, I love the friendliness and the interesting building. Custom made carpet and open fire. I know...nGreat for cheap breakfast and cosy spot with WiFi.
Food is just cheap and cheerful, nothing you'd talk about or recommend. Service, you basically order at the table and you only really interact with someone when they serve your food/drinks. Dont really get the time to interact with staff.nThe atmosphere depends on when you go really. The weekends are usually very busy at night as the drink is cheap. I went on a sunday late morning and it was quiet. No music playing, most tables that had been used were filled with dirty dishes so you had to hunt for a cleanish table. I watched customers come in and clear a table for themselves, which is a tad embarrassing.
