Story

The David Macbeth Moir opened its doors on the 14th February 2012. Named after David Macbeth Moir, a Scottish physician and writer, the pub was previously a bingo hall and before that, a cinema. This has inspired the interior decor, which has hints of Rennie Macintosh and our toilets have been awarded platinum status by the local council

The food was surprisingly good, the staff efficient and polite. We were there on a Friday from 1.30 to around 7.00 pm and the place was always busy and a bit noisy as the time wore on. I had cause to use the disabled toilet and it was ok except that in front of the toilet and sink there was a fair amount of liquid on the floor I'm not sure how often it is checked or cleaned, but that was my only criticism.
Yet another fabulous conversion from a former cinema into a Spoons. The decor is simply stunning, the efficient service is as you come to expect from this chain, and there was even a Cask ale I’d never tried before
Visiting from the USA, we had a phenomenal bar tender, Russell. He gave us some good laughs and made us some great drinks. Thanks, Russell !
Lovely building. Sure of an old cinema, l loved the old art deco theme and attention to detail in the design.nFood OK, mediocre.nStaff very pleasant and helpful.
Been here a few times...fast service, friendly staff. We got breakfast here yesterday £20 for a large full breakfast, eggs benidict extra toast & two coffees which you can refill as much as you like. Friendly chap served us, good experience all round.
