First time visit had a great day lovely grounds and gardens. Restaurant was nice and adequate for what we wanted plus reasonably priced. Ended up buying a yearly membership too great value.

Lovely place for a day out, and every time I go there seems to be something going on. A very beautiful location with amazing gardens. Great scenery and can get some amazing photos. A good place to play one or two AR games, ingress or Pokémon go. As there are a fair few portals/gyms. I find that with every turn and around each corner the is something new that I haven't noticed before. Very nice place to visit

Went to get the dog groomed by the students. They did a very good job keeping a nervous dog at ease of the hair dryer. He went in deshevelled and came out nails clipped, hair trimmed, bathed, washed and smelling fresh 👍

Went to Capel on another matter but had the opportunity to pass through the gardens, what I encountered was wonderful & offered the promise of a fantastic day out on a future visit.

This is a great place to visit. Apart from lovely days in the summer it is not busy, but even when it is there is so much room that it doesn’t really matter unless you plan to use the restaurant. The entry price is reasonable and annual membership is cost effective if you will visit more than once or twice. The gardens are huge, there are small gardens made up as an example of what you could do yourself, although these are a little tired and could do with updating. There are greenhouses, a walled garden, a holly maze, ponds, woods and a fairy garden. Kids can do a hunt to find stamps, collect them all and reception will give them a prize. The best bit for animal lovers is the animal area which has been done up and is lovely. They have parrots, donkey, wallabies, meerkats, owl, lemurs, Patagonian mara, and more. The latest addition is a pair of Scottish wildcats that we got a fantastic view of, something that is rarely seen. The gardens regularly have events on which do get busy but can be lots of fun. But the best bit is that dogs on a lead are welcome so it really can be a family day out.
