Canal Gardens is quite small but in honesty, you’re only really visiting for the pond which is beautiful. There are fountains in the middle and an ornate selection of flowers grow around the perimeter, with multiple benches and a covered area towards the back. From the pond there are also other planted garden areas for sitting and relaxing but unless you’re an enthusiast, enjoy it alongside another local attraction as it is fairly small.
Nice garden to sit and read a book or take a stroll, can be busy but quite peaceful, carry on walking and a nice little secluded area around the back with a little bridge and rock garden, great for photos and has natural beauty with flowers and shrubs, its called the Friends Garden.
A lovely place close to Tropical World just on a corner. Great place for a short walk as a finishing a visit to this indoor exotic park. Beautiful pond with a fontaine and plants around. It is free. Worth to come.
Small, amd could be really nice if it was cleaned up a bit the canal water was awful.

I had beautiful memories of Canal Gardens. I visited after 43 years as I live in Australia. I had raved to my husband about how beautiful Canal Gardens were and I was disgusted and disappointed the water was green, no fountain going and no ducks mind you no self respecting Duck would go into that water the gardens were more weeds than flowers. What has happened to the beautiful Canal Gardens?
Born & brought up in Leeds and had many happy times here on going back it's known as Tropical world and what an amazing place the butterfly's and tropical plants fish it was educational informative a smashing little shop and area to get a drink for my excited Grandaughter
Lovely peaceful place with the canal running tbrough it. Problems of the virus and the scorching May weatber have resulted in flower borders not up to their usual brilliance but the Friends Garden near the Old Park Rd entrance, being more shaded is as beautiful as ever. Great to have the cafe back in operation as a takeaway.
