I think I'm the first Korean to leave a review about this venue XDnnWent in there for a quick lunch. I ordered a fresh haddock supper and boy it was huge. There were massive size of fried haddock and chips. Haddock tasted fresh enough and the chips were also good, but had a limited time to finish them all so I had to leave some chips behind nnThe chef seemed happy when I told him the food was lovely, and indeed it was great. Myself ain't a big fish and chips fan but this venue knew how to make the battered haddock crispy and sound.
Friendly staff and the place was busy with locals, which is usually a good sign. I sometimes get indigestion from chipper suppers but I got the Wee Fish Supper which was the perfect size so nothing went to waste and no indigestion! And the onion rings I could definitely wax lyrical about, really crispy outside, soft inside and perfectly oniony.
We stopped in here for a quick bit to eat after touring the town and Lews Castle. The haddock and chips were absolutely delicious, the portions were more than generous and the price was very economical. We also had a side of onion rings which also did not disappoint. Should we ever find our way back to Stornoway, which I hope we will, we will most definitely eat here again.
This might have been one of the best fish and chips on the island. Possibly the whole time we were in Scotland. The fish was HUGE! We are so glad we stumbled into it. They only take cash keep in mind.
Extremely well frequented chip chop in Stornoway. The queue was all the way out to the street. Prices are reasonable, quality really fresh. Offers also daily specials on some days. Never seen battered oreos before although didn’t try.
