As my mum had come to stay over the weekend we last minute on the Sunday decided to take her for Sunday lunch. Initially we did try to book elsewhere but they were full at the time we wanted. We had a cream tea here last year and the outside garden and seating were just lovely, especially in the sun. So we decided to try then for Sunday lunch and a quick call and they had the time we required. We all went for a roast but there were other items on the menu, plus a child's menu (but they said they could do a small roast if required.) We all really enjoyed our roasts which were very good. Or daughter had a burger which was home made and as she left some (too big for her!) I tried and I have to say that was very nice as well. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. After desert my mum sat in the lounge area in a nice comfy seat with a coffee while we had a walk around the garden. I have to say for surroundings it is very nice, and as said, outside when it's sunny even nicer. I think on a warmer sunny day we will have afternoon tea there 😀 . It has got a big carpark but it would be nice if they could somehow link up to some of the permissive farm walks which are near by so you can park up and also have good walk to work off some of those calories . All in all I think the food was good for the price and it would be hard to find nicer surroundings that were also peaceful.

I stayed over one night for a business trip....I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was made very welcome, the room was a little run down but was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast was good and comfortable lounge to sit and have a drink. The grounds are lovely - had a good walk Good value for money

Quite disappointed with the quality of furniture in the room, pretty much falling apart. Paid for a luxury room which didn't even have a TV. Was however told I could watch it in another room. Clearly it would've made more sense to move a TV to our room especially as it looked like one was taken out of it, guessing before our arrival (a TV was eventually moved to our room). Service not very friendly, from the reception mainly. Cooked Breakfast was quite good, continental was quite restricted. Now after reading other reviews and having stayed there, I can agree the place is a little bit like the faulty towers. The grounds and the building itself are amazing. Someone would need to spend some money on the inside and replace the staff that clearly can't be asked.
