I have not been to Cagney's in many years but came in for dinner. Place looks a lot nicer than I recall and although I was hoping for a nice casual dinner, the place is a bit more upscale than I remember. The atmosphere was very nice, the staff was very very very nice and helpful, and the food was great. They have some great wines that were recommended that are not available everywhere. The steak was great, Ravioli was very tasty.. and the presentation of all meals and apps was very nice. Its definitely a step up from last time I was here. Great place for a nice night out. It's a bit more pricey than what I expected but it was very good.
The customer service and the managers were amazing but this review is about the food. I spent over $140 fighting/wrestling my food, especially the lobster tail. I had to fish out the meat from the lobster tails + I had to use my own hands to fish out the meat. Why would I be paying $140 to fight and wrestle with my food when it should be flawless eating my meal at that price point. The management was reasonable and he understood my feedback but this is just something that I would not be paying at this price.
Food is delicious. We ordered French Onion Soup, Boneless Ribeye, Scallops and Shrimp Pasta, and Cagney Cheesecake. The French Onion Soup is surprisingly delicious, not as salty as other restaurants. Ribeye is well cooked at medium rare, not too raw and not overcooked. Scallops and Shrimp Pasta is delicious, shrimps are big and meaty, the pasta has a bit of spicy flavor, which I really like. The cheesecake is creamy but the homemade jam has a taste of sweet and sour, which makes the dessert a freshly taste. It balanced so well that even though me and my wife were full after the main course, we still eager to finish the whole dessert. The servant is very good. We ordered just one soup and one dessert, and he able to directly gave us two spoons for both soup and dessert without having us to ask for it!!! I would give the restaurant a five star if the restaurant could attend to a bit more details. It was our anniversary, and I specifically marked in my booking at opentable.ca. I brought my wife there intended for a surprise for her. Since the restaurant doesn’t aware of my remark, so nothing has been done to celebrate. Anyway, the food is very delicious, and I do recommend to everyone looking for a non-franchise steakhouse.
Sizzling steaks, memorable moments - could you ask for anything more? On a hunt for a good steak, I ended up at Cagney's Steakhouse & Winebar 128 Queen St S Unit 10, Mississauga, ON L5M 1K8. A modern steakhouse and wine bar featuring swanky decor with plush seating and mood lighting, this eatery lacks in the service provided to patrons even if the food is adequate. The steak bites appetizer featured tender, bite-sized pieces of perfectly grilled steak, lightly seasoned with a savoury blend of herbs and spices, served with a rich dipping sauce that complemented their juicy, charred flavor. The main course, a tender 7oz sirloin, was accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and a colourful medley of steamed vegetables, all brought together with a zesty chimichurri and a robust pepper sauce, while the chicken fettuccine featured succulent pieces of chicken coated in a velvety alfredo sauce. Unfortunately, our experience of the wonderful meal was eclipsed by the fact that we had to wait for an hour despite making a reservation beforehand. While we were inside, the servers were quite curt when responding to us, and the crammed table setup did not help with our enjoyment of the meal. Enjoyed a spectacular meal here the other day. Had the boneless ribeye, French onion soup and fried calamari. Finished off with the lava cake and a coffee. The food was delicious and the service was great! Will definitely be back and would recommend!
Family and I were celebrating a wedding. There was 8 of us and a baby. My sis called a head of time and they had made customized menu page. Thought is was nice touch. The two servers were great and the food came out at decent times. I had a potato leek soup appetizer, chicken, mashed potatoes with veggies and cheesecake. The food was soooo delicious!! Soup was smooth and yummy. My 10 month old loved it. I was surprised by how juicy and flavorful the chicken was they had a delicious mushroom sauce that went so well with chicken and mash potato. I love dessert and the cheesecake did not disappoint. Sooo good. We were there at lunch time and the weather outside was sunny and warm, so not sure why the fireplace was on. It was soo hot, myself my baby and those sitting by the fireplace were sweating. We had to ask them to turn it off. All in all this place is amazing. I plan to come back for dinner date night with hubby : Dietary restrictions: Myself and stepmom have lime allergies. Once we told them that, they ensured our dishes were lime free. Parking: It's in a plaza so there was plenty of parking spots
Absolutely incredible service from Mario and his team! We went for dinner on Saturday night and they took good care of us for my best friend’s birthday. Mario went above and beyond with a beautiful dessert platter tiramisu is a must! perfect food recommendations, and some delicious cocktails made with love. The ambiance of the restaurant was super inviting and cozy as well - we ended up spending most of our night there because of how enjoyable it was. We’ll definitely be returning to Cagney’s with a bigger group soon!
I had my birthday dinner here and the overall experience was good. The food was not as good compared to last year specifically the mashed potatoes which were very hard & the ravioli which was bland. The proteins however were delicious also the portion sizes are a little smaller than before.The service was great as usual and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, Cagneys is still a good place to host an event or simply enjoy dinner.
TLDR: long wait times. AVOID chicken "supreme" Cons: We reserved a time for 7:30. I got a text at 7 that our table was ready, so we went early. Ended up waiting another 15minutes for a table. After ordering, the apps came fairly quick shrimp cocktails, but it took approx 45-50minutes for our mains to arrive. Sadly, when the mains were served it came lukewarm and lackluster. We wanted to complain/send it back but honestly didnt want to wait even longer. We finished our food and no server checked on us, ended up asking a random server not ours for the check, which took another 10-15 minutes. We came here many years ago and it was a great experience, food, service and atmosphere. But there's been a major decline. Pros: Aesthetically the restaurant is still very nice. and for Valentine's week, there's a cool photo booth you can take after dinner.
Overall great service and atmosphere for a nice evening out or celebrations. Good quality ingredients and the serving size are pretty generous.Food: 5/5
