American diner done right. The American diner theme and menu is done well. While the portion sizes are definitely more UK on the small side the quality of the food is fantastic. Their chicken burgers use thighs rather than breast and are cooked to perfection resulting in crispy skin and soft and moist inside. The fries were also great. Their "Joe's slaw" contained celery as their twist on typical coleslaw which wasn't to my liking but was easy enough to pick out. Drinks selection is food and nothing felt watered down. Only strange omission was their were no milkshakes. They made one for us on request but we could see why it's not on the menu. The lemongrass Lemonade and key lime martini were a hit though. Staff were helpful and friendly which made it a pleasant stay. The kids portion was almost as big as an adults so a good value option. Overall prices were very reasonable but if you have a taste card or visit during one of their promotional times the offers are extremely generous making this a great cheap eat. Highly recommended we will be back.
As close to authentic southern cooking as it gets. The menu is decently priced and they serve really good fried chicken and wings. I'm quite a regular here as they take the Gourmet Society card which offers 50% off the bill. On Wednesdays or Thursdays they offer unlimited wings until 7pm so check in with them. The service is quite good too.
The staff here are really friendly and welcoming and the food arrived very quickly. I wouldn't rush to go back here, with the gourmet society discount the food was extremely reasonable which is definitely enticing. Very open bright space with lots of light and very roomy when we went, and I love the crockery too. It's a fun nice space. However, the chicken was just a little bit dry for my liking, we had Joe's birds and I went for the lemon one which wasn't particularly lemony until I squeezed the fresh lemon I got with it onto it and though a large piece of chicken was not quite as succulent as I was expecting. Chips were good if a little salty, and the corn with paprika butter was really tasty. Wasn't the biggest fan of the coleslaw though.
Took my family there for Wife's birthday. Staff were polite and helpful. Food was very poor. Especially at that price. Nothing tasted freshly made, just heated up. I followed them on Intsagram and was dying to try it... But it was a bad mistake. Just another 'concept' restaurant with a glitzy facade and over-priced junk food. It would have seriously been better if they just took some time and care into producing freshly made food. Never again.
Went here for some food before a gig at the o2. The burger was distinctly average and the chicken was terrible. Riding on the wave of American diner food. I thought that considering the price which isn't too different from their competitors red dog saloon etc. The food would be better. Didn't bother with a service charge and told the waitress how average the food was, forgot to mention how bad the service was as well. I had to ask to be served for food, was not asked for sauces, had to ask for my bill and when I returned I had a used glass from another customer on my table. I'll never be visiting this place again and I can only advise not eating here.
The waiter had a terrible attitude. As i complained that my burger was under cooked, he then told me there was nothing he could do and walked away? My other friends enjoyed there food and i understand that mistakes may sometimes happen, but i wont be visiting again due to the terrible service. The food also took 40 minutes to arrive and it wasn't even busy in the restaurant, we were one of 3 tables. Would not recommend overall.
I think the new manager is doing a good job to improve food quality and service. He came over to say hello which was appreciated. I went for sunday breakfast with 3 friends. The food and service was great. I especially liked the coffee and spiced bacon beans.
This place is not a great addition to Kentish Town because the food is extremely overpriced for what you get! It’s meant to be a southern kitchen yet the fried chicken is terrible! Way too over cooked, dry and too crunchy. The rest of the food has no flavour and now they are charging you for extra’s like BBQ and hot sauce which used to be free. The only good thing I’ve had here was the cocktail!
I came with friends and family to enjoy a birthday after reading a few reviews online. We each ordered a main course and had to wait for ages for it to arrive, with no update from staff. It says its a 'Family Restaurant, but no games or toys for my kids, I had to ask! When my food came Bbq bun and fries, the chicken was 'stone' cold and the fries were not warm. I had to ask someone to take the food and make the chicken warm. Service was non - existent. Would anyone of us go again? NEVER!
Though the waitress was nice and seemed enthusiastic, the food is terrible. Horrible dry miserable chicken wings which have nothing in comparison to proper southern fried food. Passable but expensive fries and Caesar salad. Took them 20 mins to inexplicably make 2 cappuccinos. Decent decor.
