Great location with nice seating. Their coffee is great but the pleasant surprise was the fresh juice. They have a great variety of fresh made juice. You should try the apple and carrots, it's delicious.
Went to this Cafe with my sister, we both had toasted sandwiches which were delicious as were the their yummy muffins. The only gripe I had was with the Earl Grey tea, it was made in a tall glass cup which is normally used for Latte or Cappuccino coffee. The flavour in the tea was very weak until very near the bottom.
A very disappointing experience, ordered jacket potatoes, the lettuce was fit for the bin, one came with tomato one didn't, took a good twenty minutes to arrive, tuna mayo had sweetcorn in which wasn't mentioned, one came with hardly any cheese. No cutlery or napkins provided had to get our own. When we complained the waitress flustered, offered to get more cheese which took another five minutes. There was no option of tuna mayo without sweetcorn so a whole new meal had to be provided taking another twenty minutes, by which time the first had been finished. Apologies made but no offer of refund or discount made. We like to support small businesses but unfortunately will not be returning.
My favourite cafe in Eastbourne, but I won't go there any more. The reason? No more bacon or sausage sandwiches or baguettes. Let to believe its to do with the religion of the new owners, but they have managed to lose my custom.
Been a patron of Cafe Ruby for 16 years, unfortunatley that has now ended.The past year has seen the decline of everything that used to be Cafe Ruby which may be in part that they have lost there old staff. The high staff turnover has given birth to inconsistencies from service to the quality of there food which seems to change on a daily basis.
Very disappointed by the customer service! When me and my partner went there, it felt like we were gonna get told off just for ordering for something to eat! But the thing is that we are regular customers and always get same treatment. And when you ask them for sauces they will give you only one sachet for two people. Very bad customers service and they have lost two regulars!!
£5.90 for a pannini and a small Tea is ridiculous. Was also given the wrong food after a 20 minute wait for it to be cooked which I wasn't told about untill I had paid. Without an apology. Won't be returning.
Whenever I am in Eastbourne I always visit the Cafe Ruby and have their lovely Carrot Cake. All the cakes are made on site so they are always fresh.
Miserable staff. Inewith real attitude as if doing you a favour. Sausage roll zapped in microwave to point of burning you. Won't be back, there are other places far more welcoming
Lady serving was wearing hygenic gloves for food handling but then kept gloves on to take money from customers then back to handling food thank goodness my muffin was wrapped
