The Good: The beer is kept in good condition and food is cooked and presented well with portions of an ample size. Atmosphere is mostly welcoming. The Not So Good: Being a Shepherd Neame pub the real ale is very limited, always seems to have Master Brew & Whitstable Bay on and never anything else. The pub as a whole is a bit on the tired side and could do with a bit of TLC. And if you visit for a late lunch then be prepared to leave by 3pm for the strict afternoon closing time!

Good beer from barrel, no pump! Very tasty sausage in baguette. Log fire on a dreary day. Good old comfortable pub.
