Great museum and has a nice little cafe for a bite to eat.nKids loved it and there is enough to spend a couple of hours looking around at the buses and trams.nCalled in here after a trip on the stream train just across the road.
Nice displays, includes models and some you can sit inside. Steps going down to the museum. Has parking and near the East Lancs Railway.
We've visited several times including as part of a trip on the East Lancs steam railway. It's a medium-sized museum but seems to have lost some of the vehicles that were previously on display. There are some interactive parts for little ones but it would benefit from much more. You can get on one of the classic buses and there's the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of a bus cab. Parking is free on site and there is cheap on-road parking a short walk away on the road if this is full the car park was actually very quiet though on our recent Sunday visit.nnIf you are looking for other transport based museums with kids, the British Commercial Vehicke museum in Leyland and the transport museum in Cheetham Hill are similar but bigger.
Day full of adventure! Day out with Thomas. Lovely time.
Not very big but informative with a variety of vehicles to look at and two double decker buses to get on. There's two locos, a model railway and other informative items too. There are some issues with opening times I believe from other posts however on the day we visited everything went well!
