John is super nice and very helpful! He helped us return the car and directed us to the bus back to the city. It was a seamless experience. Daniel helped us get the car, he was great as well. The car came with a full tank. On the first day, we noticed that the left back door wasn’t locking but we were already deep in our adventures. After calling in we were able to swap it with another car at the Inverness location.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! IF YOU USE THEM, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT, THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR DASH AND CAR BEFORE LEAVING, AND WHEN YOU GET BACK!!! I recently rented a car from Budget. The pickup went smoothly enough other than the agent checking me in stopped in the middle to check in someone else. The issues start after returning the car. I returned the car with a full tank of petrol, and with no more scratches or dents that it had when I picked it up. Upon parking the car, and getting the attention of the agent at the return booth, he proceeded to tell me his system was down, and he would have to check-in the car later. I said alright, and asked when I would get a receipt, he promptly told me I would be emailed a receipt within a day or 2. I then left the car and went on my way. Well, a few days later, no email, but I was able to find a receipt through the web site. All looked good, until you see the taxable fees. I have a £156 fee for fuel, because the car has a 2/8 tank of petrol. I have been trying to get a hold of Budget by phone to try and resolve the issue today, and every time I call, its busy. I tried going through their automated system, and it puts you on hold for an agent, who the first time hung up on me as soon as they picked it up after 20 minutes on hold, and the second time after waiting on hold for over 15 minutes, was told the office has now closed, and call again later. After much back and forth through the suggested social media method, I can say they have no intention of trying to make this right, and stay away from Budget car hire, they are just going to steal from you.
walked through building, no signs for budget, went outside to cabin, he said go back inside to desk. you only see the sign BUDGET when you walk back into the building, as when you 1st walk in, the sign is behind you. had 2 people in front of me, took about 20 to 25 minutes to get seen, when guy outside is doing nothing. Car is covered in scratches even a few dents, but no proof, no one showed me around the car, didn't receive a copy of what was shown to me on the computer for damage list. The MG car was fantastic to drive, so I was happy with that.
I had made 2 bookings for the weekend medium size car. We had planned isle of skye and all other accommodation bookings were done. When we reached the budget car rental desk at airport we showed all documents driving license, international driving permit, passport, uk bank statement + student accommodation rent agreement as address proof they did some security check on us in which they said we failed. I didn’t understand what this security check was about so we asked then she said your address doesn’t match up with their system. Where we live is a student accommodation so we don’t pay council tax or any utility bill and I am here in UK on visa so I don’t have PR. According to budget website this security check was valid for PR not the one who are on visa, we tried telling this to the budget employee but she was not in the state of listening to us or giving any solutions to this issue. I don’t understand what kind of service we were provided as an international students. Still fills like nightmare, all our plans were broken within few minutes. I request everyone who is reading this review not to make any bookings from this rental service [Budget + Avis], if you like gambling go ahead. There is a high chance your vacation might get ruined. I dropped my car off early before they open as I had an early flight. Then they claim “damage” to the front wheel of the car which is not there, totally invisible in the photos evidence they submitted. Totally ridiculous and they take advantage of people who drop off the car after hours knowing they will be leaving on a plane and can’t do anything about it.
It is located right at the airport. Friendly employees helped us with insurance. I recommend you book online to get the best savings.
After days of unanswered phone calls and emails to the car rental agency, the social media team saved the day and answered my emails and provided the requested documents immediately. Shout out to the social media team!
Terribly slow service, been waiting for 30mins and have about another 30mins to go, they have linked up with Avis so I had to wait in a 10 person queue to get serviced by 1 person. Another person sat in the office not wanting to help, then popped outside for a smoke! Anyone been trained on customer service here? Won't be hiring again from Budget or Avis.
Beware! Don't rent a car from Budget in Glasgow unless you want to be lied to, misled, and ripped off. My friend and I rented a car at the Budget Desk at the airport, for one week in September 2017. When we arrived, the Customer Service Rep claimed that the smaller car we had reserved in advance through Expedia was not available. We ended up with a large Peugeot that was far too wide for Scotland's narrow roads. More importantly, the Customer Service Representative forced us to sign up for OPTIONAL insurance that was well beyond the minimum required, meaning that we paid almost $400 more than we should have. He insisted that this level of insurance was our only option, despite our requests to purchase only the minimum level of insurance. Since returning to the US, my repeated and determined efforts to secure a partial refund from Avis/Budget have met with stalling and misdirection, with the US headquarters insisting on handing me off to the UK Customer Service Office. I've contacted that office at least twice via email, and to date have received no response whatsoever. The company's website claims that it believes "in the power of personal connections," and in helping "people connect in the moments that matter." Unfortunately these lofty and inspiring words are not matched by the company's personnel and customer service procedures. There are lots of rental car companies to choose from and I hope you'll take my experience into consideration when making your choice. AVOID this company if your can.
Most companies build their business model with their customers interests in mind. This company does the opposite. Polite but incredibly inflexible and illogical policies that squeeze more money at every opportunity. I have taken a car for 2 weeks but as my plans have changed I want to give it back a week early. They will charge me 90 pounds extra to give it back early. The other option is that I can extend the hire by two days. For that privilege they will charge me an extra 700 pounds! To add another driver for 1 day - 130 pounds! Absolutely ridiculous to be charged more when giving the car back early. They said I would be “in breach of my contract for giving the car back early”. Be very careful renting a car from this company.
