Such nice people that work and manage this site, and an interesting place to spend the night. During a round trip in Scotland I came across this camp site, after a full day of rain there were no signs of the downpour stopping any time soon when I arrived in the late afternoon. The manager of the site was nice enough to offer one of their pod accomodations, which meant a lot to me since instead of being wet and cold I could now dry my already wet stuff and get a full nights rest. The on site cave which gives the site it's name is an interesting piece of the history of Scotland.
We stayed out of season and so as stated only a couple of bathrooms open. Dishwashing area closed. Facilities are clean but looking tired. All staff were very friendly and chatty. I think it would be a nice site during summer when more going on
Good site on the border offering everything you need for a brief stopover or longer stay. Facilities are good and showers are nice and hot! Children's play area is large and my daughter loved it. Site is dog friendly also. Would recommend staying here again.
Brilliant site. Great wardens.. very friendly .. and with a well stocked shop. Grounds very tidy and well kept.Toilets and showers etc are super clean . Couldn't fault it.. except... for us the pitches were just too close together.. that may have been because we were just 'overnighters' 1 night stay.. but to us it felt like we were on a housing estate . Still want to give it 5 stars though !!
Good location and pricing. Amenities clean, modern, and of high standard. Grass pitches good. We are cycle touring with tents. Reception friendly
Lovely place very close to Gretna Green. We'll stocked shop for basics at reasonable prices. Owner very friendly. Restrooms: A little dated but kept clean. Dog-friendliness: There is a dedicated dog walk. Picnic area: Table and chairs located around the site
Only stayed one night as a stop over, my power kept tripping to boil a kettle, disappointing electric showers in bathrooms, but looks a nice interesting site
From start to finish the experience was brilliant. Confirmed booking and times with us. Gave us the options if we would be later check in. Facilities clean and site is nice and quiet! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
We are moving with our Caravan to Bruce.s caravan park this month. It is where Bruce's Cave is.The Caravan park is lovely and the people who run it cater for everyone there.Cannot wait to start another chapter in our lives
Really cool place to stop. Robert the Bruce’s hideout. A cave on the side of a cliff edge behind a caravan park. Theres a descent down a path to the steps of the cave and then a wooden platform to access the cave. Wouldn’t think it was easily wheelchair accessible due to the platform and step descent but Parking is available at the shop on the caravan park which is 20-50p I think. Free if you purchase something from the shop. The lady who was working there couldn’t have been more nice and helpful she gave us some leaflets about the cave and directions to the cave. The shop had all essentials you would need for a caravan stay also toys and souvenirs for brilliant prices. Couldn’t be cheaper. Also some artifices around the shop that were found around the grounds of the cave. Really cool shop and glad we stopped here and will be again .
