Nice place. Service is pretty good, pleasant. Food is a little hit and miss especially at the carvery. Had to ask for it to be put in the microwave on occasions but overall I enjoy visitingFood: 4/5
Was in Liverpool for the weekend. Had breakfast here with a few friends. The burger was amazing! Good value for money too. I would definitely be back
Such a shame. Beautiful location but not worth the money for the food and service. I had a carvery. The meat was fine, but beyond that, the potatoes were hard, Yorkshire was of a frozen variety, and most of the veg was dry. I waited as the sign told me to.for 10 mins before deciding to go to the bar. Despite ordering on the app, I still had to queue at the till to get my ticket. Only one person served for ages while I was waiting. Tables weren't cleaned quickly, mine wasn't cleaned at all and most had old reserved signs on despite the fact they were stopping food in half an hour and no one else came. Waiters were polite but everyone was too busy or not enough staff. No other food was available apart from carvery, which cost me 12.50. Not worth the money and I won't be returning any time soon. It used to be much better than this.
Our starter was served fairly quickly, but then it was literally thrown in a bowl without any actual thought. We have never seen Nachos served with whole slices of salami and jalapeños. These should have at best been chopped into a sauce or salsa. We then waited... And waited for our mains. On asking the lady who looked like a matre-d if she could advise the kitchen to do our mains her reply was simply 'yeah right' - no apology, no polite smile... When it was eventually delivered it was sort of thrown at the table and the dirty bowl and empty cups were not even removed. We were offered sauces which were then supplied in disposable little bowls which meant we had to share the tomato sauce like a dip rather than pour it onto our chips - not exactly hygienic.
Today's visit to the best gem of a pub, the Britannia, was made even brighter by Nadia's friendly service, making sure the table was freshly wiped clean and our delicious food, the vegetarian burger, was presented hot and tasty.Thank you Nadia Vegetarian options: The veggie burgers are really tasty, in my opinion even better than the meat option.
The Britannia pub is a large place but inside it has a cosy feel to it. There is a small snug area where you can keep warm on cold days. If your riding up horseshoe pass its that last chance you will get before you're ascent to the top of the hill.Food: 5/5
Nice pub right on the bank of the river with a wide view of the wirral. Lots of tables inside and outside for watching the world go by. Only had a beer or a coffee so far so I'm reserving the 5th for when I try the food . Good prices though when I checked it out .Service: 5/5
Such incredible staff! we're always greeted with a smile and leave with one too, they always go the extra mile to make every trip perfect. A beautiful panoramic location by the water, excellent food and portions, top notch service, great prices. One of our favourites, can't praise it enough.Food: 5/5
Terrible experience. Meat was dried out from sitting under the hot lamp cover with tin foil would help. Couldn't open a tab, so I had to pre-order desserts. Yorkshire puddings were pre made aunt beessie? and small, and despite that, I was told only 1 allowed unless you paid extra for a big plate. Not a lot of choice foe the veg, I thought I lucked out when I saw fresh come from the kitchen but had a label full of what I am assuming is not butter...... service was non-existent. Table wasn't cleared and I had to ask for desserts. They took 15 minutes to arrive, and the sticky toffee pudding was cold. Wouldn't recommend it, don't bother, just find a Toby Carvery!!
We arrived at the pub which was extremely busy however we were greeted by Emma who was amazing and accommodating, she was extremely helpful from when we came in till we left. Very hospitable and friendly even with a broken finger she was carrying plates and glasses, very kind service in a very busy environment. Thank you EmmaFood: 4/5
