Update - I love to get a response from the owners! This place is perfect to go and watch sports. It would get 5 stars if that was all you were looking for. Loads of big screens, the sound is on and you’ll be able to watch from multiple different areas. Average selection of beer, with a few not available or glasses over the taps. One choice for white and red wine. Not the best but fix that and it would be 5 stars. The service at the bar was ok, but they are so passionate about their recycling that they love to slam their glass bottles into the recycling bucket at the bar….let’s quietly save the planet! Want somewhere to watch the football with a nice cold pint of Carling……this place is perfect! Nice decor and high ceilings the place too.
Had Sunday roast here, it’s was very tasty and reasonably priced but the meat was a little over cooked for my preference. Lovely staff, charming place with lots of seating. Definitely will return.
This is a must place to visit in Liverpool. Kae sure to order the scouse stew, a Liverpool classic dish.
Just left this bar. Felt uncomfortable as staff stood at end of bar chatting and smirking and looking at customers. Not interested in looking after customers. Prices show what type of food you are getting. Asked for medium to well done and a medium steak. Both were defo rare and full of fat. Was offered a manager but after settling bill and another member of staff chatted and then a manager appeared. Not a positive experience here. Will not be back. Would not recommend for service or food. Don't waste your time and money here. There are other bars in Liverpool who are very interested in your custom.
Great atmosphere but the live music was way too loud and borderline annoying. Prices for a pint not too bad but the old fashioned I had was not mixed properly at all. Completely dead around 9PM on a Friday, which is why we left. Not sure I'd return.Food: 3/5
The food here is excellent. As good as you can get on a pub menu. The Katsu Curry and Scouse are fantastic. Would reccomend highly. Great service also. 5 stars!
Visited over the weekend - was served by a charming man called Cameron. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend the chicken katsu curry
The young girl that took our order was lovely and very professional, however it was the end of her shift. The starters came out chicken skewers were look warm loaded nachos had some salsa cacamoli and sour cream threw on top then dry nachos through the dish and the melted cheese slices were transparent and like plastic. The steaks came out not how asked both very rare and unedible. The staff standing at end of bar chatting between themselves and un interested in their customers. Would not recomend this place and certainly will not be back.
What a DISASTER of a place. The 1st observation was that no one knew if they had a spare table for lunch at 13.10 when we entered. Next, the front old bank doors were left open, and it was 4* outside with a bitterly cold north wind... so it felt colder inside. NEXT it took 45 minutes for our drinks order to arrive... I should have left at that point.... but give everyone a chance. BIG MISTAKE BIG... it then took another 45 minutes for the starters to arrive, which was cold on arrival, and another 45 minutes and a very angry complaint to the Manager who apologised in a ritual tone, I suspect, for the very Disappointing Sunday dinner.... Next time you visit The Old Bank in Liverpool DON'T
A nice little break away from the hustle and bustle. Mr and my partner came here for some late night food and a couple of drinks tonight and was pleasantly surprised. For a reasonable price I had a Liverpool specialty famous Scouse which was rather tasty. My partner had the fish and chips which was also really nice portion wise for the price. It did seem very quiet and the only real downside was no normal pepsi only sugar free but otherwise it was quite a lovely building, would benefit from live music like other pubs on the same night. With a quick visit for lunch for sure. £10 for a main course is very reasonable.
