Booked table for 5 on 10th March, it was very busy when we arrived so had quite a long wait for our meal, nearly an hour. Everyone in the party was pleased with their meal except for me. I had lamb shank which was fatty & had an 'unusual tang'. Should have complained but seeing it was so busy didn't bother. Everyone else really enjoyed what they had. Must say the cheesecake was delicious. Will definitely visit again.

I come to brewers often during the day and have always been very happy with it. Day staff are very friendly. However, this evening, myself and a couple of friends with our children attended for the buffet evening. 2 of us ordered from the £8.99 menu and a few kids meals and the rest paid for the buffet. The kids meals came out relatively quick and of course buffet was fine as you help yourself, but the 2 adult meals from the menu took over an hour to arrive! It was chaotic ... waitress didn't have a clue what we ordered. Anyway, we decided to order ice cream for the kids. Again the waitress could not work out what was ordered and how many etc. Another waitress went to pass ice cream to my son, but it toppled off the plate into him. He was given a filthy look ... at 6 years old he was a bit upset about that! Anyway, the stroppy waitress went off to get a replacement ice cream but did not clean the dropped one off the floor. Kids kept standing in it! My friend went to tell the other waitress about the spillage but it didn't get cleaned up! She also told the barman about this, who told the girl to clean it up but she didn't! She just kept giving dirty looks! So tonight I'm afraid I can only give 1 star I'm afraid!

Great food at very reasonable prices especially if you have a brewers fayre card as this allows you to build up points for money off vouchers and free meals. I had a free birthday main course, so 2 mains and 2 drinks for less than £20. 👍👍👍

Food was good, but service was aweful. I would love to have had more gravy but couldn’t pull any staff members to get us more, they soon disappeared once food was delivered. The table was missing its condiments, we had a dribble of HO sauce, we had to rob an empty table for some tomato sauce. First world problems aye? Could have been a much better experience.

Showing signs of mediocrity, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, one (who had no name badge on) seemed to have the opinion that we were an inconvenience. Chef's Counter chip shop night was quite poor in terms of quality. Had many good meals here before, so will go back, but probably not for the Chef's Counter. Long wait for a table, upon arrival.
