You goto come to this restaurant, service was great and consistent, they were friendly. Baked cod, chicken wings & harissa was cooked nicely, tasted fresh and just right portion sized, the wings was good but tasted abit dry but still good enough I wasn't keen on the sauce. The desert Raspberry soufflé tasted great at first wasn't sure about the caramelised lemon thyme ice cream but it actually went very well with the soufflé. The others ordered steak , thier steak wasn't cooked hoe we wanted it to be, 1 we wanted rare it turned out to be med/well 2 we ordered med/well it turned out to be well done/over cooked. Prices here are pretty reasonable. Other than that we would come back and try other dishes on the menu.
Usually love this restaurant but tonight was not up to it's usual high standard. Specific request for seating was ignored. Took ages to order food felt ignored by the staff. Only one portion of food available. Not impressed with lemon sole. Mentioned lack of salmon on menu. Went downhill from then on. Got distinct feeling staff were talking about us. Bill was delivered very abruptly. Really bad atmosphere. Not acknowledged as we left. As if staff were just waiting for us to leave. Overall not a very good experience. Really surprised as I have always loved every visit here. Disappointed.
Been here several times - consistently good food at surprisingly reasonable prices, especially if you get the early deal. Staff are friendly and always happy to help. Best quality restaurant on the moor, no doubt.
Have been to this restaurant twice. First experience was very positive. However, upon a second visit a few months later, either we met upon a rocky night or things have changed significantly. The steaks were not cooked how we asked for them—they were overcooked, and we anticipated this given how long they took to arrive. Managerial service was evasive and completely non-sympathetic to the fact that the chefs had botched our order, and the waiting staff became rude and unhelpful once we sent back a very well done “medium rare” fillet steak. Thanks, but never again.
Never disappointed! We visited on 5th June for our anniversary and had 3 courses. The restaurant is quite small but well spaced and has a nice atmosphere with chilled music 70s/ funk. The menu changes regularly and the fixed price is amazing value. The food is fresh, seasonal, clever and carefully prepared. I enjoyed a ham/ venison terrine starter, my husband had a scotch egg, both were absolutely beautiful. We had steak and salmon fishcake main again both were tasty and had mouth watering sauces. We stayed for dessert which was white choc cheesecake and raspberry souffle. The cheesecake was gorgeous but the souffle was absolutely amazing!! Thanks to the team for a special evening which included 2 glasses of prosecco on the house to mark the occasion. We will definitely be back!
Good food, not cheap but it is worth it. The steaks are similarly priced to the new Millar and Carter steakhouse but are FAR superior in taste and quality here. I won't be going back to that chain restaurant, and now every time I come back here it feels like I am getting better value for money.
Just been in for the 1st and certainly not my last time, the food me and my wife were served was absolutely beautiful. The staff were extremely pleasant. Well worth a visit..
Staff are amazing and no words can tell you how nice the food is. You have to try it for yourself. Had Sunday lunch, offer menu and a la carte all outstanding. Nice intimate restaurant.
Loved the food here. Can thoroughly recommend the scotch egg starter and the tandoori fish main. At least I think that's what I had. Some good booze too.
Excellent food and really helpful and knowledgeable staff that catered for my girlfriends dietary requirements. They also were complementary to my homemade cake I'd made for my mother in laws birthday!
