below avarage- potatos used for the chips taste sweet- i had to add a lot of vinegar and salt to mask the sweetness. fish way too expensive. staff bored and seem not interested

Great food but the price is out of this world, you can get restaurant food for the same price. Feeding a family is a very expensive. The restaurant is immaculate and the food is great.

My wife and I have been to this fish and chip shop every week for the past year. We cannot fault the quality of their fish and chips. However we visited the shop last Friday. It was a very cold, damp and windy day. My wife asked a member of staff to please close the door to the shop because we were very cold. They always have the door open regardless of the weather conditions. She was told that the manager wants the door left open all the time because it it was closed, everyone would think the shop wasn't open!!!!!!! How ridiculous is that!!! Do all other cafes and shops keep their doors open in bad weather? No of course not. The manager wants to spend w few pence on an " Open/Closed" sign to put on the door. Anyway my wife and I will not be frequenting this shop again. Chester is full of places where you can have fish and chips or any other food you like. Blackstocks do not give consideration to customers needs and insist on leaving them cold and shivering in their shop.

One of the less tasty and cheap Fish and Chips I ever Eaten. Too rich in oil, no salt at all and the price was too high. Deeply not recommended
