Story

After working in France and Belgium, Marc Vérité realised a lifelong ambition and opened his eponymous Bistrot Vérité in Birkdale Village. This AA-rosetted restaurant is very much a family affair with wife Michaela running front-of-house and dad Claude helping out with patisserie. It’s deliberately modelled on a rustic French bistro with simple and laid-back styling and a daily-changing blackboard menu based firmly upon fresh local produce. Starters might include Mussels Mariniere or Baked camembert with caramelised apples and pistachio nuts; typical mains include classic dishes such as Chateaubriand for two with Bearnaise sauce and Grilled venison haunch steak rubbed with juniper berries and garlic. Bistrot Vérité is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday.

Delicious, absolutely delicious. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with pleasant, friendly staff. The food was delicious, we were even brave and tried the frogs legs and snails (which were excellent, if a little intimidating). The mains were spectacular and I could write a short but provocative love letter to the apple tart, it was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten! 5 stars, have already recommended to friends

Loved this place. The food is excellent and plenty of it which is good. Staff are friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend it if you're in the area

Great atmosphere for dining without loud music. Great choice of wonderfully prepared and cooked food. Head waiter and sommelier are both friendly and professional.

BEST RESTAURANT IN BIRKDALE/SOUTHPORT! Without a shadow of a doubt, this restaurant is the best in the area. Fantastic Menu which does change every day, excellent service and the price for what you are getting is very, very good. Make sure you book early - otherwise you may not get a table because this place fills up quick! Most consistent restaurant in the Southport area and i have lived here for 28 years. I take many business people from all over the world here and can never fault the food or service, all of my clients and suppliers also compliment the place.
