We went for a colleagues meal whilst staying in Winchester for the night. Had some great meals and drinks with excellent service. The views are great in the garden/marquee.
Came here on a busy Saturday lunchtime after being turned away at other venues for not booking. Friendly host was able to squeeze us in fairly quickly the service continued to be fantastic until we left. Lovely buzzing atmosphere, great looking venue with heated outdoor space. Food and drinks were very nice and best of all they were served quickly despite the place being at near capacity. Only slight issue was I ordered the buffaloumi burger and my friend ordered the fish finger sandwich at half the price and his was more substantial with a salad and mine looked quite lonely. Was expecting the buffaloumi to have a bit more going for it. Tasted good but not worth the extra. Would recommend this place for a meal or just a relaxing drink and will be visiting again when I’m next in Winchester
I'm so, so glad I booked a table for this place as I doubt we would've gotten a table! We went at midday, there was a small queue of people waiting to get in and within 15 minutes of sitting down, the pub was pretty full. The service ran smoothly with staff getting orders from the table rather than people going to the bar. We didn't have to wait too long for our lunch and drinks. This is definitely the best Sunday lunch we've had in a while and would 100% go back.
Their garden is the best place to be on a warm summer day, right next to the river the food is great too and so is service. I would recommend the shepherd's pie!
Glad we found this pub/ restaurant. All six of us were ready for food. It's situated alongside a fast moving river, which pleasant walk before lunch. The food is good basic British fare, and fair prices too.
It’s a very popular place in the city next to the river. It’s got plenty of seating in and outside. There is a good choice on the menu and being a Fuller’s pub all you’d expect from the drinks selection too. It’s pet friendly also. A variety of seating- stools, high chairs, wingback armchairs and patio too. It can get very busy so aim to arrive early for the best seating arrangements. The food is locally sourced and is of a high quality. I’ve been here from Southampton and it’s a popular choice for me.
Lovely pub and friendly helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our roast dinners that we had, definitely recommend!
Sat in the little sheds with a vodka and tonic on a cold Saturday afternoon with the fairy lights on was a great way to relax and chat . Great vibe to the place .
Really nice pub. Clean, tidy, staff were friendly and helpful. Live music in the evening was decent. Menu was slightly lacking in options but wouldn't not go on that basis. Outside seating / dining area was good too, spacious, outdoor heaters covering the vast majority of the garden and blankets were put out aswell. Will be coming back here to have a proper evening rather than a quick drink and something to eat after a day of graft. Definitely recommend!
We was here in last Sunday for a quick dinner on way back to London. This place is beautifuldog friendly. The Lady from the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and that's it from the nice part of our visit here. For more than 15 minutes nobody come take the order. We felt like the staff were doing everything they could not to look at us or come to the table. We attempted to use the app but signal was horrendous and the wifi did not work either. Finally we got a servers attention and have to ask about that. Beer was ok, a lot options to choose from. Main course came not long after the beer. My fish was super soggy, non crispy not hot. Both out chips are weren't "triple cooked". They was completely white and soft. Burger was ok but served without any salad or nothing almost £15 meal. My boyfriend ordered chocolate dessert and it was very nice albeit quite on the small side. I tried the cold apple crumble with plum... Im not sure if your chef is trying the food before is served but...I never eat nothing that disgusting. Is mostly plum, no apples, completely no flavour and extremely sour. Served cold didn't help... It is a really nice place and we are upset about this as it has a lot of potential. Nice scenery, nice place on the river. Nice beer garden and very nice decoration and interior, but the food just isn't up to par. The place was apparently "busy" but there were 3 or 4 tables being served inside and yes almost all tables outside were with people but not everyone had food so in total maybe 20 tables were being occupied in and out
