Nice little Bed & Breakfast right in the middle of Red Kite trail Me and my son visited Bird & Breakfast end summer last year. Marc, the owner, was friendly enough to walk a part of the the trail with us and help us spot the birds. And spotting them we did: about 5 sightings in the first hour, more than most people see in a life time! Room is simple but neat, the bed and breakfast is placed in a little hamlet on top of a hill and sports picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. We were warmly cared for, which the B&B experience is all about. Ask Marc for his prize winning Duck eggs for breakfast. Altogether worth a recommendation for bird watchers and hikers. We will return for sure! Vincent

We stayed in Bird and Breakfast in the middle of a cycle trip (C2C) and arrived rather wet and dirty. We received a very friendly welcome. We took up the offer of dinner and stayed two days. Breakfasts and dinners were simple but good. It was a nice opportunity to see their ducks and chickens, and also a woodpecker on the bird feeder. I warmly recommend this place to stay overnight or longer.

I had the choice of staying here or finding somewhere in the middle of the busy city for a night before a city centre conference - this was absolutely the best choice by far. Peace and quiet, a lovely friendly welcome, nature and fresh air all around and still only a short drive to my destination the following morning. I slept really well and the food was really lovely, fresh and local to boot. Thanks for your great hosting ... and for the info about the flowers!

Had a lovely evening at Bird & Breakfast - the perfect final stop on our Coast to Coast bike ride. Nice hot shower and even slippers! Nice comfortable room and lovely fresh eggs for breakfast.

Many thanks for a very enjoyable stay; Marieke & Marc are delightful hosts very welcoming & friendly. The accommodation is immaculately clean & comfortable set in beautiful peaceful location but within short easy distance to Newcastle. Delicious food all fresh, locally sourced including hen & duck eggs from their own small holding. Marc is particularly enthusiastic about ensuring your stay is bespoke to your individual requirements.
