Restaurant is lovely inside, great atmosphere and fresh decor. Service is great and quick. Food is good but on the expensive side for what you get but it is Ho Wong after all so to be expected. Would recommend to book for evenings as since they reopened they are still busy. There are possibly better Chinese planes in Glasgow but everyone has to go to Ho Wong at least once. Not as spicy as I was expecting but my dinner mate liked it. Will go back to try more dishes. It is halal so that's a bonus.
Just been to the new Ho Wong for lunch. Excellent food, the very best quality, however this is reflected in the cost. Not the cheapest lunch in town but probably the best I have tasted for a long time.
Stepsons 21st at Ho Wong and could not fault decor, service or food it was simply the best! Piping hot food served at table was delicious. Ok it’s a bit more expensive than others but nothing out of the way. Booked again before we left!! Also brought out wee cake to embarrass
Doesn’t look like much from the outside however once inside the decor is quite beautiful all five of us enjoyed our food it was very tasty. They even had a decent wine list especially for an Asian restaurant in Scotland
Absolutely amazing. High standard Chinese. The team is of great service, polite, spectacular. A treat to my friends. Thank you Ho Wong. Coming back next week. Please book in advance I’d say a week or so. Highly recommend.
Went for my brother's 40th, and the food was exceptional! The steak with crispy garlic starter was great. As we're the salt and chilli asparagus and aubergine dishes! And the lemon sole with salt and chilli main was epic! As was the spicy honey chicken dish!
Some of their food was fairly ok overall. Steam fish was overcooked and bland. Also their drizzling beef was in a very sweet sauce which felt like having sweet and sour dish. For the price that you do pay, their portion doesn't match it. Service was terrible as the staff was very rude and don't know how to treat customers. You might as well go to a Michelin star restaurant instead of this place as you get a better value and quality for your money.
Visited the Ho Wong for lunch today. IT WAS SUPERB. I've hunted high and low throughout Scotland looking for the BEST EVER chicken satay and today I found it at the Ho Wong. My wife and our friend found their dishes equally as good in terms of taste and quality of food. Well done chefs and well done staff for making this dining experience so memorable. Will be back.
Please don’t be fooled with how pretty this restaurant looks! I ordered grilled chicken which was on the menu and I was brought fried chicken and was told that’s the only thing they do which really confused me to why they have it listed on the menu. I then decided to give it a try and it tasted really weird and definitely not fresh, I politely told the owner however he was so rude and told me that I haven’t tried enough to know. He then continued to say that the chicken looked good and there is nothing wrong with it and that I should eat it. Everyone that I spoke to had the worst attitude. I ended up not eating my meal but had to pay for it. Am really disappointed as they have no idea what customer service is. The food and isn’t different from china buffet king. Don’t waste your money there it isn’t worth it.
This was my first trip to the new ho Wong and my first since becoming a vegetarian. They have a sperate menu for veggies which is a relief, I had minced vegatables with lettuce leaves to start,i had chose a sweet and sour tempura but it was not available, but I did enjoy what I got. Most of the mains were tofu so I had Kung po tofu as I recognised it from other menus and it was nice. The only problem I had was we were a big group and couldn't be seated in the main restaurant instead we were in a large room annexed off the waiting area , it was nice but lacked atmosphere and felt a bit cold as we were there alone for most of the night , I wasn't paying but if I was I would definitely have felt a bit more than disapionted , we arrived a 7 o'clock and left after 10 it was busy and we took a long time to order but It felt like a long night. We were back for Christmas and were seated in the main dining area and what a difference a very lively atmos and fast service with excellent tasting food and friendly service from start to finish, 5 starts. Vegetarian options: Lovely choice of meals.
