Went to watch a game of rugby on sky sports. It was like pulling teeth. No sound on the TV when we did find the right channel sky sports active. Most of the TV are linked to sound system on extra loud giving football commentary. Game went off 5 times and staff to busy to sort it. Beer is cheap and nondescript. Won't bother again.
Nice pub. Clean and friendly for away fans playing Burton, not sure about matches vs Derby. Accepted our 2-4-1 vouchers for inches cider
I often describe this place as a modern day wetherspoons has roughly same prices as them but better decor, live sports and music. It also used to have a heated outdoor space but this was switched off last time even though it was cold so reduced the stars by one
Certainly not one of the best places for real ale in Burton: My Hobgoblin on tap was off, with a vinegary smell and taste. This shouldn't happen at a pub that serves hand-pumped ales. The pub itself is all right I guess, but appeals more to undemanding punters - I could tell that those who were there when I was there were certainly rather vulgar people. The JD Wetherspoon pub "The Lord Burton" is right next door - and though it appeals to the same kind of patrons, it's actually considerably better, and cheaper - and they keep their beers fresh!
Great place to visit lots of good atmosphere
Great place to enjoy a beer and catch up with friends.. tvs music add to the atmosphere
The pub is next door to a Wetherspoons pub, however this one has sky sports and music to suit the age of the punters. As a bonus prices are competing with 'Spoons on price !
I was extremely angry with the way they treated my disabled daughter in a wheelchair the security guard clearly didn't want us their because they were discrimination against us. They pulled my daughter out of the wheelchair. And left her on the floor in pain
Nice place to stay and enjoy
Great priced beer, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Sally and Rachel were flat-out, but still had a smile for their customers.
