Great location, right in the middle of L1 and by the docs. The place is also huge, so it's easy to have larger parties here, or go watch games with friends. I would not probably go there just for the food, the chicken wings were nice, but the bratwurst options were not my favourite. Lots to drink though !
After a good walk round we were ready for a drink and choose the Bierkeller as we thought would have a good selection of continental beers and it was on the way back to the car. Was disappointed with the offering on the bar. Pretty much mainstream UK beers with a couple of token German beers. The some tables outside remained uncleared for the duration of our visit which was attracting gulls which kept swooping down to grab the left over food. Could do with staff clearing up quicker to stop this. We won’t be visiting again.
Visited as part of my Sister In Laws Hen Night the weekend. Nice atmosphere - downstairs was more chilled and relaxed with a live band playing. Upstairs there was a sports bar and a club room playing different music. Food was great! And there was a good range of drinks including cocktails. Service could have been a little quicker as some of our group had to wait longer for their meals compared to others. Nice outside seating area too. I don't normally like live bands but the two men that were playing on Saturday 25th June were great to listen to and watch.
Pretty cool pub if you serve Steins! Ok so it's £12.50 a stein but it's a great change from the norm. This place also at the back has a sports bar with TVs and pool etc if your into that. Small outdoor area at the front if the weather is good too. Some fairly major steps to go up to get in. I'm unsure if there is another way in that's easier.
Absolutely unreal atmosphere. Everyone up and dancing and having a great time. Absolutely loved it. The food was very nice as well. Everyone was there just to have a good time and have fun. First time I've been and I would definitely return. We came as a group of 15 and there was plenty of food and drinks to go around.
This place is AMAZING! We booked our hen party onto the Saturday evening Oompah show and it was absolutely fab! The beer was great, entertaining was fantastic. I cannot rave about this place enough. Great customer service from all staff members. Highly recommend the show! Downstairs bar was pretty chilled out for more of a relaxed vibe.
Came here for a karaoke event a couple months ago. Insanely expensive for the quantity and quality, and as a Germanophile I can safely say this 'Bierkeller' tries too hard to be German yet fails miserably. Also - a member of staff placed a glass full of a black liquid on our table with no context that none of us had ordered - we smelled it and tried it and it was absolutely disgusting and I think we could confidently say it was either mud or poo. The staff we asked had no clue what was in the drink either... which adds to our confusion. Please find attached photo of the drink. It has remained a great mystery to us all. Wir brauchen etwas ostdeutschen Einfluss. Wir brauchen Westler, um ein authentisches deutsches Erlebnis zu haben und nicht diese überteuerte stereotype Schande einer Kneipe! Not coming here again.
The best Bierkeller I've been to. Always a laugh and great to watch sport here. The part with the Bavarian style tables and chairs always has a great atmosphere.
We booked a table for the World Cup and with table service, it really gave us a great night. A wonderful menu and drink selection make this a perfect choice for sports events.
Large Liverpool bar that's usually pretty busy. Nothing overly special but then again nothing wrong with it either. If you are looking for a good place to have a few drinks then it's worth going to but doesn't have anything overly special to make you stay.
