I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is undergoing some renovation and also development work with a new 120 seat restaurant being created I believe. So .. there is an impact to access slightly and the beautiful garden but I'm sure all will be returned to normal when the work is done. If you want ultra modern then I wouldn't stay here but if you want somewhere friendly, clean and within easy walk of the centre of Bury then this hotel is great. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and seem to enjoy working with each other and with their customers, I've stayed there a lot and never had an issue.

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, for 2 adults and 3 children. When we checked in we found we were in different parts of the hotel but staff were very helpful and moved so that we had rooms together. I was worried when I saw other reviews that said the rooms were old fashioned. The hotel is undergoing renovation. We had 1 new room and one original. The newly decorated room was really nice inside, though the electric shower was a bit puny. Breakfast was good quality and staff were all very friendly.

Lovely hotel in a good location. Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. The separate out-buildings with rooms are a great idea but the bathrooms need updating. We've stayed here a few times, it's well situated. For the best prices book direct.

A charming, small hotel within easy reach of the lovely Bury St Edmunds. We stayed in a room in the main building which was spacious and clean with all the facilities you would expect and enjoyed a good cooked breakfast on both mornings. What really sets this hotel apart though is the superb customer service. From the moment we were checked in we were made to feel like highly valued guests by all of the staff who went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and who were exceptionally efficient. We have stayed in lots of hotels and always find Best Western staff to be good, but staff at The Priory really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to ensure you enjoy your stay. For this reason we will certainly pay a return visit and would highly recommend the hotel if visiting this part of the country.

The hotel is in a good location on the edge of Bury St Edmunds. It appears to be having a makeover, which will make it more attractive to guests. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is of a very good quality. We would stay there again, preferably when renovations are completed.
