We arrived on Friday afternoon not knowing what to expect as there were many mixed reviews. However we have found this hotel to be very pleasant. The staff here have made our stay, they couldn't be more helpful, considerate and eager to make sure that we were enjoying our stay. Whatever we asked for we got. The room (No. 7) was spacious, clean and warm, it was -2 outside. The ensuite was roomy, and the shower was nice and hot (the floor could do with a bleach!) The food we ate here was good and plenty of it. A great selection of gin, and great cocktails. We would certainly stay again if we come to the area.

Great History, nice Lunch at a realistic price. Staff kind too. We were collecting our Son Jimmy from EAU (a Vegan - but has only just started watching Star Trek), had a double side dish of seasonal vegetable, nicely prepared, cooked & served. My Ham, Eggs & Chips were perfect. My wife, a vegetarian, on a constant diet, had two delicious Latte Coffees. very welcoming, great friendly service. Good price. We, Will be back!

Clean and tidy, helpful with dairy free options but conference room was freezing, had to ask for fan heaters to stay warm!

Stopped by for a light lunch and it was delightful, open fire, charming and cosy interior, attentive service, and tasty food, and good value. Will definitely return.
