Ordered a taxi a week before it was due to pick me and my friends up from a New Years party. Taxi kept us waiting for over 2 hours in the middle of the night. When I called and spoke to an operator they constantly told me it was 10 minutes away until they finally told me the driver had simply gone home... Terrible service, completely unreliable and was charged £10 on top of what I was quoted for the journey to the party. Don't use these guys unless its a very last resort, to be honest, you're better off walking.
DO NOT USE Appalling service. Their website says '‘We don’t leave our passengers in the dark, whatever the circumstances’ That is exactly what they did. More than an hour late for a pickup after a wedding in a rural location just outside Redhill, leaving me and my family waiting in the cold and dark as the wedding shut down and other guests disappeared. The only others waiting with us were also customers of Roadrunner/Belfry, who had to wait for even longer nearly 2 hours. After the first two times I spoke to the call centre to enquire about where the car was, they simply hung up whenever I got through. Strongly advise anyone to use an alternative service.
Had quite a difficult experience with Belfry after booking a return journey via Minicabit, don't know whether to blame Belfry's dispatch or Minicabit but a few things went wrong including a taxi being dispatched immediately for a booking I made for the weekend and a journey I cancelled on Minicabit being dispatched by Belfry anyway. The dispatch was incredibly rude when I called to try and rectify some of the confusion, constantly interrupting me and hanging up on me ultimate customer service no-no before my query was resolved. My wife called the dispatch in the evening and was told to sort it out directly with the driver. The drivers we had were fantastic, very friendly efficient and personable. There was a bit of confusion over our dropoff/pickup destination not on Minicabit's list of addresses but our first driver liaised with our second to ensure we were picked up in the right place. Very good service from the drivers, shame about the dispatch.
Awful - They used to provide a good service, but since they have combined with roadrunners they have gone downhill. Out of the last two taxis I booked one was over 30 minutes late and the other didn't show up at all and they just stopped answering the phone, I had to book through another company and was very late for a meeting. The first one was for the airport which they knew as the drop off was booked for Gatwick, after it was 5 minutes late I called and was assured that it would be there in 2 minutes, it wasn't.. When asking why it was so late the response I got was that there were no taxis in the area at the moment, seeing as I booked it two days in advance I'm not sure why this was the case. Luckily I just managed to make my flight. I don't normally write reviews but they have become so bad that I feel people need to be warned.
Regularly 5 - 10 minutes late at arrival, but can and was as much as 30 minutes late for an airport drop off - not what you need when trying to catch a flight. Call centre staff seem uninterested and unapologetic, on the two calls I made to see where my pre-booked taxi was.
Booked two taxis a day in advance to get to work and back home - the first arrived 26 minutes late and I was therefore late for a meeting. The second car was cancelled 5 minutes before it was due to arrive and Belfry did not answer the phone when I tried to call to find out why. They are totally unreliable and offer terrible customer service. Clowns
Awful cab service. Booked a cab for the airport the previous day for 5.20am. informed them how much luggage we had. The day if the holiday no one had turned up by 5.35am. When I rung to ask where they were they said they were about to dispatch a cab but wanted to know how much luggage we had before they would send a cab, which would then be another 15minutes before they could allocate a cab. Put the phone down and ordered an Uber, which was with us in 5 minutes. 5 stars for Uber 1 star for Belfry cabs
Disappointingly rubbish. Booked a car in the morning for a journey at 5:10pm to get me across town for an appointment at 5:30pm. At 5:18pm I called to ask where they were, only to be put on hold and then cut off. On calling a second time, I was told no one could be with me sooner than 15 minutes. Apparently they hadn't anticipated the traffic and volume of business. Hint: If as a company you cannot commit to and honour a booking, tell the customer so they can find someone who can. Will never use again, and will advise my company never to use again either.
Belfry have now merged with Road Runners and the quality of service has gone down the drain. If you want to use them during the day they are fairly reliable. But avoid using them during busy periods or need to be on time. Twice I have been left stranded alone at venues at 11pm+ despite having booked it days in advance, the last driver turned up 1 hour late and wondered why I was fuming. When you attempt to speak to someone on the phone no one answers the phone. And if you do get to speak to them after the event get fobbed off with we were very busy - well don’t take the booking in the first place then. I am now taking my business over to Blue Arrow.
Let down spectacularly after a rare night out. Taxi not booked by first agent and after being assured one was dispatched after the second call we were told 15 minutes later 50 minutes after our initial booking that they didn’t have any cabs available. Cost us an extra hour of baby sitting. Staff were exceptionally rude and unhelpful.
