Story

Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will.
Beefeater believe in two things, a warm friendly welcome and serving incredible steak that you can kick back, relax and enjoy. If you're visiting the Museum of Kent Life, Allington Castle or shopping in Maidstone, the Malta Inn is perfectly located for a tasty meal

We've eaten here twice this week. Wednesday lunchtime for my husband's birthday and then Friday evening for a friend's get together. Both times the food was delicious and both times we were blessed with wonderful wait staff. Both Chloe on Wednesday and Stacey tonight we're brilliant! Amusing to talk to, chatty, helpful, just great. The only fault was with the corn on the cob which came with the chicken and ribs and it was cold. Otherwise a great meal, both times.

Lovely and helpful staff. My girlfriend has a severe nut allergy and the staff were so lovely and courteous going through what dishes she can and can’t have. It can be a nightmare when going out to restaurants for her so it was very much appreciated. Great service too.

Lovely place with a great layout. In the summer, drinks by the river are great. Be warned though it gets very busy so book up. Generally great service and good food. Saturday nights however are hellish, with a number of experiences showing worse food, very long service waiting and stressed staff. That aside, it's a nice venue.

Absolutely disgusting. We were a family of 8 (adults) 1 needing wheelchair access which we ordered. Another party took our table & refused to move for staff. Finally found a nice round table in the window - things looking up. Then the meal - badly timed. Tepid: not what we ordered & 2 x desserts never turned up so cancelled them with refund for both. No apology- nothing - which might have gone some way to softening the total comedy of it all. It was a good job we were able to see the idiocy of it all. I should have known from previous visit with son/family where they totally forgot half the order! Hey ho - put down to experience & not repeat.

Having visited the Malta last week and able to sit in a quiet area we decided to return for my partners birthday. Requested a quiet table again as my partner is autistic and doesn't tolerate noise very well, all explained at booking stage. We were seated in the so called quiet area right next to a raucous hen party! had to rush through our meal as they were so noisy. Birthday meal spoiled.
