I stayed here for 3 weeks whilst waiting for a room in a house to become available and by the end of my time here I didn’t want to leave. The house is beautifully presented, spacious, pristinely clean and has a lovely homely feel from day one. Your room will have a comfortable bed, free wifi, a good sized desk, plenty of storage space, tea and coffee making facilities and a combined TV/DVD player. Whether you want to work or relax, you will be well catered for. In addition there are smaller details that you will really appreciate and demonstrate just how much effort goes into making your stay a pleasant one. And now onto the man himself – your host, Shaun. The standard of the house is one thing but the quality of service that Shaun provides is out of this world. He is a domestic God in every sense. You will always be clothed due to regular clothes washes. You will never go hungry with three delicious, generously portioned meals a day, tailored to your tastes and preferences (Shaun’s sandwiches were a personal favourite of mine and were genuinely the highlight of my workday!). You will be entertained, with a variety of films on offer. And most importantly you will feel at home and cared for. Shaun will truly go the extra mile to ensure all of your needs are met and will do so with an infectious enthusiasm and happiness that is sure to cheer you up no matter what kind of day you’ve had. Calling this a B&B does not do it justice as it is much closer to being a second home. Whatever kind of person you are, and whatever the reason for your stay in Milton Keynes, THIS is the place you want to stay. If you are extremely lucky, you may find somewhere with comparable facilities, but there is no way you will find a host that comes anywhere near Shaun and for that reason, your search for a place to stay should end here.

If Carlsberg did B&Bs... I can honestly say that you'll never find a B&B as welcoming as Shaun's, and I've never seen or heard of anywhere that is as high in value. I've been staying at Shaun's during the working week for two months now, and I plan to stay here for the entire duration of my contract in Milton Keynes. To use a bit of a cliché, it really has become a home away from home. I've never reviewed anywhere on Trip Adviser, but I'm breaking my rule because I've never felt so compelled to leave positive feedback. From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave for work the next day, Shaun is exceptionally helpful and welcoming. I've known the guy to pick people up from the station at midnight, carry their bags to one of the 5 rooms in the B&B, and then come back at half five in the morning to prepare breakfast for everybody staying there. As welcoming and helpful as Shaun is, he is very respectful of your privacy, and will always do his best to make you feel comfortable no matter what kind of person you are. From seeing lots of different people come and go from the B&B, I've noticed that if you're talkative he's always up for a good chat (with some amazing stories of his own), but if you're the quiet type, he'll leave you to your own devices. With regards to getting your dinner, Shaun has got you covered there too. At first I walked in to the centre to get food from the supermarket (only five minutes walk away), but you'll be hard pressed to find anything that's as good as Shaun's cooking, and you'll never match the value. Just take a look at the photographs I've posted - they're just what you need after a hard day at work. The portions are absolutely massive, but Shaun would never be offended if you couldn't finish it all. It's £7.50 a night for dinner - for that you get a huge portion for your main course, as many soft drinks as you want, and pudding for dessert. It's right by the centre (five minute walk from the big shopping malls and the cinema), and if you're off for a night out with a few mates for a drink or two, Shaun will most-likely offer to give you a lift to your destination. The rooms are spotless, so much so that it's hard to believe Shaun looks after it all himself. I've stayed in two of the rooms so far, one room had two singles in it and was right next to the bathroom, and the other was an en-suite double. Both rooms were just as spacious and clean as the other, and had more than enough desk space for your laptop/games console/books for work. The WiFi is reliable, the water in the shower is warm, the beds are comfortable... what more do you need? If I come back to stay in Milton Keynes after my contract ends, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

Absolutely super B&B. Immaculately clean, excellent food, superb location. Ideal for a short stay tourist or a long term worker.

Just visit their website to see first class reviews from customers. I've seen it - all very clean and tidy with lovely rooms, great food and a chill-out garden.
