It would be okay but the HVAC issues kill it.nnI stayed two nights for a conference. It's not bad though not quite what I would expect of a four star hotel, being a little dated here are there and clearly a few years from it's last refurb, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Food was average. The main problem with this hotel is the HVAC, which is invisible until it doesn't work, which it doesn't here.nnThe room stats are locked to 20°C minimum, which is quite warm to sleep in, and I prefer it cooler. But the AC in my room did not work at all, and the room was at least 24°C. After being moved to a different room where the AC did work I could get the room comfortable, but it kept turning off throughout the night meaning the room rapidly heated up again to an uncomfortable 22°C or more.nnThe HVAC problems were not confined to the rooms. The conference hall on day 1 was so hot that I had to go and change my top after the first hour and avoid the space for the rest of the morning. The staff did manage to cool it down a bit by later on, but it remained way too hot for the event overall. In the evening we had a gala dinner, but it was spoiled somewhat by the high temperature and the noisy fans the hotel had installed to try to provide some relief. Fortunately the smaller breakout rooms were comfortable.nnThe staff were friendly and helpful and did what they could within their power to help with the situations, but fundamentally the management need to get the HVAC fixed or replaced and remove, or at least relax, the aggressive policy imposed on the room stats. If I'm paying a 4-star rate to stay in a hotel with AC in the rooms, I expect it to work, and I expect to be able to set it at a temperature that is comfortable for me.nnI would not choose to stay here again unless I knew the HVAC problems had been resolved.
Friendly staff, stains on mattress protector, marks on bedside lamp, very dated bathroom, mattress very firm but guess you can't please everyone! Room was over all very clean. Breakfast had great choice but hot english breakfast had cheap ingredients. Plates super small, guess they dont waste... need to swap the new potatoes as not crispy, literally lighty grilled super soft. Swap for hash browns...
Had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel. From the beginning until the end of our stay was excellent. We received a free room upgrade which was lovely as it was our wedding anniversary. The breakfast was amazing, a very good selection of food to choose from. Had yummy vegetarian sausages. Srsff were very polite. A big shout to benedicta at reception who was very friendly and efficient on her job.
Check-in was met with a fairly vacant receptionist, paying her attention elsewhere. Rooms air-con is not the greatest, you turn it down to the temp you want, and it reverts to 21°C after 5-10 mins. Rooms don't have much in the way of lighting.nnBreakfast staff were fantastic, as we're the serving staff at the event I attended
Absolutely love this hotel. It’s fantastic value for money, staff are very friendly, it’s clean, location is fantastic if you are looking to go shopping or for bars and restaurants. Considering it is a very busy hotel it’s also very quiet in the rooms, very comfortable beds also aids to a relaxing pleasant stay.nThere was an issue with the room when we arrived and the manager Johnny couldn’t have been more accommodating. He immediately upgraded us to one of the executive rooms. We also was given complementary breakfast and dinner which were both really nice. He was extremely helpful with the move to another room even offering to help us with our luggage. Even received a follow up call to our upgraded room to check all was well.nLiterally can’t fault this hotel. We’ve stayed here many times and will be staying many more.
