One of the worse librarys for noise. There is often a lot of noise and the main culprits being the users. They chat and talk loud to their computers and friends and eat crisps. They can't sit down or get up without making more noise as they fill/unfill their bags. The worst users of a library I've ever met. The childrens section is too close. The main reception is too near the tables. The users can't make enquiries without shouting. The staff speak loudly too. Kids run around shouting. No toilets. Some strange people use it too. Overall not worth the trip.
Lovely local library with friendly staff. Reservations and check out/in system is very efficient. Library app excellent for searching and locating books.

The Kids section is very well stocked, study area was full of students studying and selection of books and periodicals in general good, music and DVD's if the Internet ever stops working. Staff are friendly and approachable.
They won't let me use the printer!!
This beautiful library has been a mainstay of my kids growing up in Beckenham. The choice of kids books is great. The machine that you leave books back with is a real treat got them to use. And the machine to borrow books is so quick and easy. Long may this top library stay in Beckenham!
Overall, rude staff. I went there with 2 friends to revise in a quiet space for our upcoming A-level exams. There were no seats available except ones with the library computers, so we sat there and got on with our revision in silence. The librarian with orange hair who had previously told off another young girl for moving a chair to sit next to someone she was with came up to ask and passive aggressively told us to move and we can't sit there as we weren't using the computers. There were no other available tables in the library and it wasn't like there were people waiting for a computer. There were also at least 6 other computers that were free.We immediately moved, however the rude manner in which she spoke to us was uncalled for. Perhaps more tables should be installed. We were unable to get revision done here. Apart from the unwelcoming librarian, this library is a lovely place to visit.
Good place to meet up
This was my local library that I loved since I was little. I find some of the comments below a bit pointless in my opinion why would a library have toilets!. Staff were helpful and at the end of the day, you go there to borrow books, cds, dvds. Like I happily did.
I loved it here, the connection was amazing and I was able to play minecraft and watch anime in peace and tranquility
