Radiation isolation ...is not easy! But ward B3 staff have been incredible, so friendly, kind and attentive. They have helped the time away from my family a bit easier. Clocks went back last night and they don't get paid for that extra hour ..disgusting. although they were still happy to bring me my coffee . Brilliant job guys ! Thanks so much . The hospital its self needs a little TLC. And radiation isolation could be made more comfortable by having own kettle and fridge like other similar set ups in the UK. The window is small feels like night time all day long . But it's small for a reason..I'm just happy to see a little day light. The beach scenery on my wall gives the room a sence of depth , well done who ever thought of that.
I've been attending with my dying partner and the staff have been fantastic but on the way in this morning ,I was stopped by a nurse in dark blue. She told me I'm not allowed in the chemotherapy department even if the patient is disabled. Well I just gave them lots more work, if I'm not allowed in then you will need to arrange for my partner to be escorted out to the carpark and every chemo session from now on my partner will have to be met at front door and escorted to this horrible ward and even more horrible nurse. All other nurses I've came across have been amazing and couldn't do enough for you.I don't know this horrible human bogus carers name but she's in navy colours on chemo ward this morning
Everyone involved in providing my cancer treatment are excellent. I'm treated with respect and it's always ensured that my dignity is intact. My only minor gripe is that there is not enough parking bays and you need to arrive 20-30 minutes early for your appointment to ensure you get parked in time.
I have been going back and forth to the beatson cancer center, and I think it's a friendly place and the doctors and nurses do a great job in getting patients to were they need to be and listening to their concerns.
The upsetting and impersonal treatment here is unacceptable and I believe prolonged my recovery! The colo - rectal staff simply pile in painkillers rather than listen to what you’re going through! The lead doctor in that department is incompetent beyond belief forgetting to make appointments he says you need. Promised at the start of my treatment to be at my side and monitor me closely - saw him once! He is both incompetent and uncaring!
I’m currently going through chemotherapy and 5 years ago my mother was treated for lung cancer. This hospital and its staff are second to none. The admiration I have for the wonderful nurses and doctors is immeasurable. Can’t thank them enough.
A Young patients chemo, scans, bloods etc all delayed as well as the liver operation. Lost his battle to cancer due to delays in treatment. Heard many horror stories from cancer patients at the Beatson complaining of the many errors and delays in treatment, misdiagnosis. You'd think young patients would have priority with treatment but I guess patients are just a number and nothing more. Appalling how the NHS has gone from being a good service to awful services. I have no faith in the NHS.
They have a lot of staff that comes there to have a laugh and a chat and mess about not to care for the patients. not talking about everyone but majority The people who bring coffee and tea are a million times better than those useless nurses they have. You press the buzzer ask for paracetamol or pain relief they take 50-60 minutes to bring it even thought it’s been hours and you are eligible to take another some nurses sit on the chair doing jack shxt and say we will bring it soon Happens with the person I am with everyday it’s ridiculous takes 1 minutes to bring the medicine needed to the patient , there’s only about 10 patients in the ward and there’s more nurses in the ward coming to just chill about. If by any chance due to delay something happens to them then who’s responsible for that??
Staff friendly and helpful, just started my radiotherapy today,to have four weeks treatment, was diagnosed with early breast cancer, shock, just broke down getting lots of support and the best
Ward B7 staff couldn’t have been better, very friendly and knowledgeable. Out patients in ward B8 and B9 couldn’t have been worse. Rude nurses with a superiority complex. Would rather watch the tv than actually deal with patients, then despite the rest of the hospital being fine with visitors since some people drive hours to get there for a two hour appointment, they seem to make up the rules as they go. A ward full of useless lazy Karen’s.
