Lovely experience. The husband is vegan, so when we booked they arranged a three bean casserole and rice for him. He also was able to have the roast potatoes, parsnips and stuffing, all made without animal products. He partook!! One stuffed vegan. That's rare!
My sister is gluten intolerant, so a Sherry Trifle was sorted out without the sponge for her. It was still amazing.
Lovely staff, lovely food, generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff are all very accommodating.
The desserts are fabulous, if you haven't got room after the carvery, you can take them away with you.
Our second visit, as good as our first experience. We'll definitely go again.

Beautiful meal just before Christmas. Got very busy and quite loud, but cheerfuly so. Very friendly staff and a good variety of food . A great place to visit after a walk, or after a trip to the royal mint. Meals were well priced and a good size.

Rude and aggressive owner Colin towards me in front of my 14 year old daughter, my partner and a bar full of customers. I popped in to speak to him to arrange a cancer charity night after it had been previously arranged by my brother with Colin the owner. I also had messaged the pubs Facebook page thinking I was talking with the owners a few days previously and was given the times they were open on the Saturday and Sunday to pop in to speak to them. Ordered drinks and asked to speak to Colin as had been arranged. Bar staff said he was in the kitchen and they would get him. When he came out he treated me unbelievably rudely and disrespectfully. He told me we were in the wrong pub, that it was another local pub we had arranged it with. He was looking at his bar staff for answers as I told him I'd been messaging someone from there yesterday. He insinuated I am a liar telling me they know nothing about it, someone's on a windup and the pub isn't even on Facebook. Then proceeded to aggressively say to me "What's my name then? What's my name?!" Then he walked away back the way he came. Disgusting unprofessional attitude from this business on 18th November 2017. Beware if you go to this pub politely asking if it's ok to speak to them about a charity night or if they are too busy. The response I got was disgusting.
After messaging the pubs facebook page complaining I received no response whatsoever, so I left a 1* review. 2days later on 20th received comments from a staff member who was not there on the Sat night, but runs the business Facebook page, calling me a liar, childish, commenting common sense.Facebook removed review 8th January.I gave 1* stating "my review has been removed, what's the point of a review page when the bad reviews get removed? It's not a real representation." Received more comments 20th January from same staff member including saying I have a personal vendetta against the pub. This is undeniably unprofessional. Now there are 2 complaints about disgraceful customer service not just the original one.
