Old traditional pub, possibly in need of a bit of updating but the staff are very welcoming and friendly - ready to have a chat. Very popular with locals. Inside it still has the old bar and bar stools which is good to see in a traditional pub, and a good range of draught beers. There is a very large car park with parking spaces for disabled. A ramp up to the door for wheelchairs and wide doors make it very accessible. For the better weather there is a large beer garden, although this is next to the busy main road. Food is basic 'pub grub' with nothing fancy but it was cooked well and very tasty and portions were very large with reasonable prices. The kitchen has a top grade of 5 hygiene rating. TVs with Sky Sports are dotted around and a pool table and dartboard. In all, a great place to while away some time, afternoon or evening.
We thought we'd try this place en route home and was pleasantly surprised. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and very reasonably priced. They gave us additional gravy when asked. Very friendly. The pictures were interesting too. The only thing I'd change is the music was a bit loud and I'd never serve ice in white wine unless asked first. Well done
Nice country pub with extensive outside seating and a decent range of home cooked food. Visited on a Saturday lunch and there was a nice atmosphere and buzz to the place. Food is homely and reasonably priced, drinks are well looked after and the staff are friendly. Good place to refuel after a walk or countryside drive out.
Called in and asked if they were serving food. 4 young members of staff hesitated before answering yes. We asked for menus, ordered a drink and sat down. Went to the bar with our food order but it wasn't available. We drank up and left. Staff not interested, you had to walk past them smoking outside to enter the pub . The inside smelt of smoke and tables sticky. Very disappointing and won't be returning
Great little country pub. Good food and selection of beers.
Nothing special going on here. Typical pub, ok pub grub. Staff and customers friendly enough. Outdoor eating area, and also dog friendly. Personally, I found the sticky tables off putting
Been afew times now for food and always been impressed. Food can take awhile coming out but worth the wait! Very reasonable prices.
Called in for drink and snak and wow what a snak great sandwich more door stop than sandwich great value and good pint as well and icing on cake dog friendly
Fanastic service and food. Highly recommend the cheese and onion pie.
Service was great, food came out tasty and hot. There was a small issue with desert which was sorted immediately and replaced free of charge. Will go back again
