Stopped here for a drink and a small bite after walking on the South Downs. Staff are polite and well presented. Only ordered a sandwich but wow what presentation and great amount of pickle, unlike other places that seem to forget it. The cheese was a little mild for my liking but great lite bite and will 100% come back as kept seeing amazing dishes coming out to other customers and was very impressed. Beer garden is lovely and the kids area seems very safe and actually quite nice being separated. In all great experience and food and will return.
Absolutely brilliant, amazing kids space which is family friendly to the fullest!! Great food for the price and service woth a smile, what more could you want everytime we go back here, its great the staff and manager are absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful x
The sun was shining, lots of bouncy castles for the kids to play on and the pizzas were absolutely delicious! Everyone had a smile on, lots of people chatting and having fun - you can tell a lot about a venue by its clientele and clearly this place is doing a lot of things right. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff despite being an incredibly hot day were still serving with a smile. Cant wait to come back
Plenty of seating and a very attractive main building. The bar staff were very friendly and the Guinness was very good. A couple of beers on tap including eagle IPA but neither were standout. Unfortunately the pizza was seriously disappointing after an hour wait, really dry crusts and the flavour on the duck one was very bland. Didn't seem like wood fired, we've had better supermarket pizzas. I definitely wouldn't recommend them even though there is a great selection of toppings. I would go back to give it a second chance on the food because we had a great time regardless.
Friendly staff and nice looking pub. Looks like it will be great in the summer for the kids with inflatable play ground. Nice garden. Worth a visit.
I’ve been going to this pub since the summer of 2019. It has bouncy castles and other types of commercial grade inflatables in the beer garden. In 2019 this pub had just 1 massive bouncy castle. In 2022 the pub had 5 inflatables, i.e. : a bouncy castle with an inflatable mountain in the middle, an inflatable slide, an inflatable obstacle course, a small bouncy castle, and a medium bouncy castle. So this could possibly be the only pub in the UK that boasts an inflatable playground which is perfect for children and people on the Autism Spectrum like myself. However, Autistic adults should only use the inflatables separately from the children for their safety and protection, and Autistic adults should visit the pub on a quiet day during the week to guarantee to have a therapy session on the inflatables. This pub has also recently become a pizzeria and they make their Italian style pizzas from scratch in the time honoured tradition. I tried the Duck Pizza on one occasion, and it was absolutely top notch. So to sum up, this is a fantastic rural country gastropub, and I highly recommend it to anyone, particularly those with children and for special needs adults during quiet periods.
Welcoming, small traditional pub with open fre. Serves food. Looks to be a popular pub. Play area with in summer time bouncy castle etc.
After a disappointing roast last weekend at another place this was super, decent portions properly cooked as much veggies as you want and lovely staff. A very nice beer too, probably my last meal out before jetting off again and great one to finish on.
Very friendly welcome and superb service. Lunch was absolutely fantastic. Hot Nachos were great. Dog friendly as well.
Food was delicious. Decor a bit strange sitting inside, a bit dated but then an awesome big mirror and hanging baskets everywhere.. but usually sit outside with the kids in the summer so don't normally see/pay attention. The geese are a funny extra to announce your arrival
