Hubby and I stopped in to have his birthday celebration dinner. Nice little 200 + Yr old pub, tucked away from the beach. Service was great. Food was really nice. Love they have tapas on the menu. We didn't book a table, but they accommodated us. We got there 15 mins. before dinner started starts at 5:30p It started to get busy around 6pm with those who had booked a table. Would definitely go back when we're in the area again.
We had a lovely meal here on the last day of our holiday in Portreath. I would recommend booking a table as it was really busy. Especially if you have a dog. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere as it seems to be a favourite with the locals. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere. I had seared scallops with asparagus and Dijon mash. My husband had chicken, bacon and brie, chips and salad. Both from the specials menu and both very tasty. The price was very reasonable with drinks as well. We met and chatted to some lovely locals.
Food was brilliant - really good and home cooked. Brilliant atmosphere & the staff are very welcoming. Mussels were caught the same day, tasted brilliant with the sauce. Steak was cooked to perfection - homemade chips were delicious. A bit expensive - but you get what you pay for. A stones throw from the popular Portreath Beach. I’d highly recommend you give it a go. Classical Cornwall pub. The kitchen closes early: better order before 8 pm Young crew often clumsy. The good is abundant and there are choices of beers. Desserts are well prepared. Loved the sweet potato chips, the fresh cod and the final pudding.
A jolly place to be. From the staff to patrons. Everybody extremely friendly even the dogs. The food was exceptional and mo rip off prices. Thank you for making our week in Cornwall so welcoming.Food: 5/5
Popped in on sat for a quick pint. Bar lady was welcoming and friendly. I chose the Skinners Porthleven ale. Really really fresh and tasty.. if I wasn't driving I could've stayed drinking that all day. Nice location with some parking. Parking available free on the hill or on the sea front just 1 mins walk away.Service: 4/5
What a lovely friendly pub! A big party of around 25 of us were on holiday over the new year period and at different times had some of us popped in there on the way to or from the beach. One day we all landed there all wanting to eat, staff were fantastic and very accommodating. All the food was served hot and in good time and delicious! Dog friendly too. Would definitely recommend to others.
Fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Very friendly people in a lovely location. Parking: Ample parking Kid-friendliness: Kids loved it
