A true bass guitar shop that has stock of pretty much everything you'll ever need. It's refreshing to see a place dedicated to bass, not just a few Fenders in the back corner. Looking at photos on the Internet is one thing, but you have to see these basses in person to really appreciate them. Mark also provides excellent customer service and is very knowledge on anything you wish to ask about. I'd recommend take the trip down, just be prepared to want to buy everything!
Ordered a second hand Sandberg Basic VM4 at a great price. Arrived well packed and very quickly. Well set up and immaculate condition. Bass direct have also been incredibly helpful in back ordering some new Bartolini pickups for me and their communication has been prompt and incredibly helpful. Pleasure to deal with them.
Travelled down from St Helens and it was well worth the drive. Chap who runs it was knowledgeable and endlessly patient with me and my lad, who picked out a beautiful Sandberg four stringer out of the many options he had a chance to try. Have a feeling that won't be our last visit. Well recommended.
Great service - Clean and restring Took my 1st child MusicMan Stingray, which has sadly been a bit neglected since my actually children arrived, into Bass Direct for a clean up and some new strings. The guys did an amazing job - the bass looks incredible and sounds better than ever. The shop itself is like massively impressive and I've got my eye on one of their straps too as well as next time taking a closer look at the mini uke-like bass' they have. Very cool shop and great service
Worse online shopping experience to Germany, Staff nice and helpful, but careless: I'm from Germany and ordered an Nordstrand bass at BassdirectUK. The website looks like from the 1990 and you have to request the stock by mail. The response was very quick, nice and helpful. So I ordered the Nordstrand Bass with flat wound strings special offer on the page. Before I send the money I was asking for a check of the bass, if everything is all right. She said we will do that always. Due to the Brexit it needs one month to arrive Germany. It came and nothing was checked. They send me the bass with round wound strings and the volume pot was totally loose 360° turn. So I had to open the pick guard and fix it and bought the right flat wound strings. I claimed the wrong strings and he send me the right strings, but it never arrived. The second try to send me the right strings was 2 month later and arrived but the guys didn't send it as a gift. So I had to pay tax on it. You can imagine if I would do it again...
Some reviews criticise their customer service - and it can be generously described as 'no frills' - but you can't argue with their prices and I've never had any bad experiences ordering from them online.
Excellent customer service. Answered my questions over the phone. Huge range of gear at really good prices. Will be using again.
Cannot reccomend Bass Direct enough. Was helping my Dad look for some Aguilar gear and had been looking at it for a while when we came across Bass Direct. We contacted Mark via e-mail and he got straight back to us. Super speedy coms! He was super helpful at sorting out a price and delivery for us on equipment which is pretty hard to find in the UK! Top guys 10/10 will be back again.
They have a great collection of gears but rather disappointed in their service. They sent the incorrect gear on my first order this was later rectified, I understand these things can happen Second order however, they were very quick to respond to my initial email, queries, and to send me an invoice. However, I had to chase them multiple times for over a week, both via telephone and email to ask where my order is/reference number, i've never gotten a response. Only when I opened up a claim on Paypal they responded almost immediately, advising that they will send my order today. There were no explanation, apologies, acknowledgement at all.
Needed some bits and bobs to refurbish my first Bass Guitar, the staff demonstrated first class product knowledge and I left with exactly what I needed. An awe inspiring selection of hardware, friendly and fulfilling a niche to perfection.
