What a lovely bar, a lovely feeling country hotel. What more do you need amazing staff, lovely customers, a great selection of drinks and proper pub food at a good price. I love sitting by the open fire and having a pint on a cold winter's evening, although I also love their great beer garden and Sunday BBQs. If you you are passing, swing in and thank me later :.
I challenge anyone to find a better sunday roast. Literal perfection. I called ahead to order as i wondered if they would be kind enough to allow me to have a takeaway as my wife wasnt well. The accomodated my needs without question. Having not eaten here before i was unsure what to expect, needless to say i was not dissapointed. Everything was cooked to perfection, flavoursome and very pleasing to the eye. The yorskire pudding was incredible, the beef.... well it was out of this world. Its amazing to see that the Chef clearly takes pride in delivering great food. I am an ex chef of 10 years. I find myself judging my food a little more than others due to this but i couldnt fault it apart from ONE THING!!!! I would have loved a little more Jous, however, i was not eating in the establishment. So im sure if i would have asked i would have recieved. So with that in mind, thank you to the Chef and staff and keep up the good work. I will see you next sunday!
Went in for food with my friend and we both had the Barrington burger which was amazing. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Really nice pub. Food & drinks: Food was great
Just been back for food at 2 for 22 pounds, food was delicious. Kids meals are massive and the staff are lovely. Morgan and Naomi did a great job and the music was really good. Thoroughly recommend everyone attending. I frequently go here, every time the food has been lovely, the bar staff have been great, Rob is a fab landlord and they are all so welcoming. Very family friendly and dog friendly and very reasonable price for everything. Keep up the good work.
Accessibility was tricky for my 2 octogenarian parents trying to negotiate a narrow staircase through an extremely heavy firedoor. I had requested a twin room for them but no-one mentioned when they checked in that it was a double, however it was a lovely room. The real problem was live music until the early hours! It had stopped once but just as they were going to sleep it started up again! I think it was 2.00am before they finally got to sleep and my Mum is deaf so it must have been loud!
It was our first time staying at the Barrington Arms in Shrivenham and we were more than pleased with the service that we recieved, Rob the landlord couldn't be more helpful and his staff were lovely. The only thing I could be picky about is the option of having a cooked breakfast but that just my personal preference and isn't a criticism in anyway. We had a lovely stay and will defiantly be back to visit again. Thank you for making our stay a good one
Curates egg of a place. Sometimes good local place for a pint. Food up and down but usually OK. However occasionally get some clients loud and swearing in there and so not so good Walkability: Village centre location.
Went for lunch with my friend, can highly recommend the burgers. Lovely staff, will definitely go again Service: 5/5
Had fish and chips not very good fish was very watery. Was very cold keeped our coats on no heating on.Service: 1/5
