Terrible place. Even older people must use machines. No counter at all for no one. I’m really thinking to move to different bank after today’s visit.
I came in yesterday to deposit some cash and had a few questions about a credit card. The lady at the front on the ipad was so helpful she even helped me open a savings account. She gave some good advice about credit cards and how to apply as well as answering my questions really clearly. Just wanted to say thanks for everything. Im new to the area so it was nice to feel welcomed in this way!
Highly disappointed but not shocked with their service as you can see from the other reviews. I had a very simple request which would take no longer than 5 minutes. I know it only takes a short time since I had just been to Santander to handle my other account. However, Barclays, especially the Bexleyheath branch are incapable of sufficient customer service and efficiency. I was told to wait 40 minutes and was dismissed. The two staff members I spoke to were not doing anything and were chatting, not solely about work as everyone could hear their conversation. I did not need to use the machines and their main desk was closed, and the staff hovering with iPads hide so they do not have to work. Their dismissive and condescending attitude towards me was very disrespectful as I spoke in a polite tone. Santander have less staff, yet solved my issue in under 5 minutes. You’d never experience the rudeness and condescending attitude the staff in Santander. Working on the shop floor, their main priority is customer service but you’d think they have never been taught that by their rude responses. Staff chatter in the corner while they could help customers and make the whole process run smoothly and efficiently. The staff at this branch think too highly of themselves which I don’t understand why as they earn minimum wage on a Barclays shop floor and is not a job that requires any real skill or talent. It’s pathetic that with all these poor reviews they are yet to change their attitude towards clients.
I would like to say a huge thank you for the staff who always is very friendly and helpful, A special thank you for Rachel and Thomas Martin from Bexleyheath branch, they are in the right place and are doing a fantastic job, I cannot thank them enough for their work. After not pleasant experience at Woolwich they made their best to show that the customer comes first.
One star is generous for this bank. Staff unfriendly and rude. They strut about doing nothing yet keep you waiting. They push online ,not realising that they’ll all lose their jobs due it. Made to wait an hour when four staff members were doing nothing. Avoid this bank.
Jo at the assisted desk is a life saver. They don’t normally do my request at the branch, but I explained to her my situation and she listened and helped me with what I need. Thanks again Jo!
Extremely poor service from a bank that alleges to be a great high street bank. It took me 4 visits to the branch before I even sat down with somebody to open a joint account. I was advised it could take up to 10 days to complete, however having now waited 10 working days or 11 if you include the day I signed the documents, I have still received no telephone calls or correspondence from Barclays bank. As a first time customer I found this a very poor processing service. After signing my documents at Barclays, I walked across the road to Metro bank and they were happy to sign me up instantly and would notify me if there were any delays. Why didn't I just sign up with Metro bank there and then??? I gave the 1 star for the pleasant staff I had interactions with, the bank itself receive no stars.
After using this bank I realised how good Barclays Welling was. No paper in the ATM machine, the deposit machine wasn't accepting cheques and the staff couldn't care less. Terrible experience. I will be trying Woolwich to see if that is any better
I went to the bank for some bank statements of more than 6 years requested by a governing body. I had already been prepared to be told this might not be possible after trying online. I was attended to by a lady called Sally. Sally was very patient and helpful. When the system wasn’t functioning properly for a long time, she was determined to help me out and for that I am grateful. I have now received the statements even though there was a lot sent due to an error from Barclays, I have been getting truckloads of statements!
Staff there seem lazy,they never seems like they wanna help.disgusting branch
