The only redeeming feature of our visit was that they sell the most amazing paint I have ever used Dulux Simply Refresh One Coat Matt. How a store can get it's checkouts so wrong in this day and age is beyond belief. They only had a single manned checkout and then several rows of self service checkouts, of which half were closed. The open ones were set up so you could not tell which were in use and which were free. There were no red/green beacons as most stores use and the shop assistant was not doing much to help. In fact the only thing they did was ask me in a stern manner whether I had scanned my club card, immediately after I scanned it on my phone and while it was still showing on screen that it had been accepted. Just reaffirms my usual decision to buy from Amazon or order for collection from Toolstation or Screwfix. Not impressed at all.
The store is loaded with a lot of DIY products and tools, most are easy to fix and some you can get installers to help. This helps the do-it-yourself culture to manifest within.
Excellent service from the girl on the Valspar mixing counter. Very helpful in knowledge of choosing which colours to go for, unfortunately didn’t get her name but worth her weight in gold. Thanks you. Visited Monday 12th February evening
