The biggest issue is Chelmsford residents are being screwed over by a 90 minute parking limit which is not enough time for a big store like this, where you also have to allow 30 minutes to get through the tills as they are not reactive to opening more tills when queues form on the single open till. They have lost money from me as a result of not having enough time to shop. This store suffers from empty shelves, poor sectioning layout of products, missing price labels and general untidiness. Seems to have a high Staff turnover. Staff are a mixture with some helpfull and some not so friendly and helpful, and a clueless young female manager who has a attitude and can't communicate well with customers. Prices on some items are good and cheap, until you get hit with the PCN parking fine which makes you not want to return. Lakeside and pitsea stores have no such parking limits. So much wasted potential the empty unused space on the second floor and the store in general. A classic example of why b&m are suffering with sales losses. So many simple fixes that could be implemented that are missed, it is painful to see.
Had to dump a basket full of shopping near the tills. The ridiculous 90 minutes for the car park does not give time to shop and get through the checkouts which are often undermanned and have queues. I understand if it was busy like at Xmas but the car park was nearly empty. They need to allow customers more time. Also a lot of shelves empty not enough staff restocking. I can see problems with extending the time as people might abuse the car park as it's a short walk into town. So maybe at least make it 120 minutes and validate parking with a receipt. Otherwise this store will be doomed to failure. There is also a lack of public WC in the area as Aldi doesn't have one either. There's also no mention of a no return time period on the parking sign.
Very nice inside , very clean and very big. I can only assume for a first time shopper inside the upstairs is new, I can safely say this, this is the first B&M I have been in with everything organised properly and upstairs is very very big inside. Everything is laid out properly , easy to find , but the store is massive and not many staff could be seen, but I believe that’s why everything is laid out so well. Apart from that parking isn’t very big outside the car park is quite a funny one when you go inside. And the bays can get full especially as it comes off a main road. Above all it was a good experience and I’m sure to return
This store and company doesn’t care remotely about its customers! I have emailed a complaint on behalf of my wife and was ignored. Ten days later I emailed a follow up to the complaint ignored. If anyone at B&M bother to read their reviews please check your emails and actually respond to your customer complaints. Absolutely disgusting
