Hired a van from here to help my sister move as it was cheaper than asking a man with a van all staff that i met were lovely and the van was more than exceptional would definitely recommend here if your looking to hire :

Most recent experience was the same as the past three. The booking process is seamless but aside the range of brand new or nearly new vehicles is only surpassed by the whole team working here. From reception to the guys working hard to get you on your way. Never will I go anywhere else for my hire vehicle needs and thank you for finding my glasses case after I dropped the Berlingo off!

Hired from here twice, great experience. The vans are clean and good spec. Makes a change from other companies ! Good service. Will use again!

Avoid this company like the plague, they are very dishonest and will lie to you despite having picture and video evidence that contradicts there claims. Very poor excuse of a company. Would like to give zero stars

Always excellent service and clean quality vehicles. Highly recommended We hire cars and minibuses for footy regular trips. All the staff are very knowledgeable and courteous. There is plenty of other hirers locally but these are our favourite.

The manager Helen Rogers is the main reason you should not hire from this company.  I am a person of colour and I booked a hire on the phone and all was ok. When I arrived in person I was asked "what are You doing down here?", "why are You hiring from us?" and "what do You want the van for?".  Other clients who were of a lighter hue arrived and hired while I was waiting and they were not asked any of these questions. I let the interrogation go but after a couple of hires they started sending me text messages about unknown maybe imaginary people making unsubstantiated claims that my driving was erratic. When we returned the van they did not provide any proof that any report had been made. In fact no mention of it was made when we returned the vehicle. I have a full clean driving license which I have held for over 20 years which they verified. They used this supposed report and my robust response to it as a pretext to deny myself and my business service. There is of course nothing in the agreement we made that says we have answer to unsubstantiated and false claims about our driving style as it would be unlawful. When I asked about the veracity of the claims Helen the manager just rudely put the phone down. At Avondale this is considered professional customer service and if this is the what you can expect from management team you can just imagine what the treatment can be like. They also have a £500 excess and no option to reduce it with excess protection. Unlike Enterprise if someone sneezes on the vehicle they will charge you for repair just like the other reviews state and they are often looking to charge people for fuel even when the vehicle is returned full. The vans are good as they are new and high spec and I mention this to be fair in this review. In addition one member of support staff who delivers the vans was truly friendly and pleasant. However the people in the office leave a lot to be desired. If you are not from around there you will always feel an unwelcome and strange vibe in my opinion as I hired from them a few times and it was always the same. I believe that I conducted myself in a polite and professional manner at all times when in their presence. It is not for me to opine on their motives but I think my experience speaks for itself. The treatment I received motivated me to post this review as they have a lot of room for improvement according to my experience. At Enterprise in Cwmbran around the corner I have had the exact opposite experience,  warm friendly and helpful even with staff we are meeting for the first time. Professional and always happy to see us and not with a face like a smacked bum and a nasty vibe. Hiring a vehicle is a simple thing in general but not at Avondale. That should be their slogan.

Spend the extra few quid and go to europcar. This company are obviously in cahoots with the fuel station next to them, or the guy who checks the vans is on the fiddle. I picked up a van from them and took their word that it was full. I obviously as per agreement returned it to them full. I filled up at the morrisons pay at pump late on a Sunday night, the pump clicked, I even let it gurgle and squeezed a bit more in to be sure. I then drove around the corner 0.9mile to be exactand returned the van, gave the keys to the fuel station attendant as per agreement. Days later my deposit still wasn't returned so I called Avondale to be informed rudely that my deposit had been returned in part to the wrong credit card and that the remainder had been retained in charges for fuel!!! I had been charged nearly £25 for a thimble full of fuel. Is this because I didn't fill up at the petrol station next to them? Is the guy who does the checks picking up discarded receipts and pretending he put that fuel in their vans? I don't know but I do know that they are charging falsely. To be fair on this review I will say the van was lovely to drive despite the ad blue warning light flashing after a couple of hundred miles. If you do decide to use this company don't turn up on a Saturday morning as you will be greeted by a receptionist with a face like a slapped bum who is quite vocal about the fact that she can't wait to get out of there and enjoy the rest of her Saturday.
