Lovely place great for relaxing, and really clean, only noise was from across the lake but wasnt annoying or constant. Lovely views over the lake even on dull days. Very much enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub listening to the birds in the evening. You do need a car to get places there isnt a bus stop near by or public path but thats not the accomodations fault. Hopping to visit again in the future.
Avon Wood is a beautiful, quiet, and secluded holiday park with lake views. Our lodge for two was completely private with a large patio area. It was bright, comfortable, spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and wanted for nothing. Our welcome pack included prossecco, chocolates, tea, coffee, and milk, and the shower/toilets are stocked with plenty of nice liquid shower & hand soaps, shampoo and conditioners, also hand gel. We would certainly return in the future. Rooms: The lodge was perfect in every way! Nearby activities: Ten minutes drive from Bowness and slightly less to Newby Bridge. Safety: A very safe and quiet location. Food & drinks: Nearest pubs, shops restaurants are in Bowness.
We stayed at Blakeholme Lodge for 4 nights. It was by far one of the best holiday we've had. Exceptional location, the lodge itself is spotless, it has everything you could possibly think of and its so homely. Excellent communication with the owners. They were so helpful to us. And it's so quiet, with the lake on your doorstep. You'll have the best holiday here
2nd stay at Avonwood Holiday park. First stay was in Coniston lodge in 2019 and this September we stayed in Rydal Retreat. Where to start, Christine and Andrew are friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was delightful and certainly went down well, cheers. The lodge itself is well maintained and has everything you need, comfy bed, comfy sofas and the view from the garden was breath taking. The hot tub was so relaxing and a lovely bonus. We would highly recommend a stay at Avon Wood. Thank you Christine and Andrew.
On arrival , the greeting was very friendly. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location and area is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Great place. Rooms: The accommodation was spotlessly clean. Nearby activities: Only a short drive to anywhere in the Lakes. Great location.
We stayed at Avon Wood in the Coniston retreat lodge and it was every bit as lovely as the Hoeseasons website showed. The lodge itself was very comfortable with lots of little nice touches . The kitchen lacked nothing in terms of a holiday lodge and was one of the best we've every seen. The outside area was beautiful with hot tub patio furniture and sun loungers and BBQ, all overlooking Lake Windermere. Ok , you had to stand up to see the lake but it really was beautiful lodge in beautiful surroundings.
2nd time at this park.1st in the retreat lodge. The lodge was immaculate with all the equipment you could possibly need. Lovely and peaceful and private. Only a couple of issues 1. The bed was rather small. 2. The hot tub although it had stunning views was a little tired. And 3. Watch out for the mosquitoes we both got bite all over.
A stunning park to stay on our Lodge was lovely fully equipped with everything. The park it's self is nice and quite. The car is able to be parked by the side of the Lodge to which is nice also. Beds are made up on your arrivel, a welcome pack was made up with tea towels ect would recommend the park to anyone.
Our lodge was the gummers how retreat for the first week in May and it did not disappoint, the lodge was well presented and very private for the use of the hot tub.the canopy over the tub was a bonus as the weather was unpredictable will definitely return
Fantastic caravan! Modern and clean. Warm and cosy after a day on the mountain bikes. Really great location, easy to get to and get around from there. Stayed mon-fri in the half term and was so quiet. Only thing thing we could add is that a bike shed would have been handy, but not a big concern. Would certainly stay again : Thank you!
