Firstly, this car hire location is not near the Swindon Train Station. You will have to have transportation to the office, be it a cab or a lift. On arriving at the office, the staff were unaware that the date of reservation and the date ordered could be different, asking me about the booking like I had made a mistake when I had not. The car I booked wasn't available and I was left waiting for an hour before a vehicle turned up. I was asked if I wanted to come back but with no idea when the car would arrive, and due to the remote location and being unfamiliar with the surroundings I wouldn't be comfortable wondering off. So far I have not been impressed with the service provided by the Avis in Swindon. Perhaps other providers would do a better job?

Excellent prices, service; flexibility; friendly and helpful staff. Lovely Hyundai i10 rented for over a week. I've driven hundreds of hire cars from scores of car rental firms, and I rate this amongst the best. Thank you Avis Swindon!

Awful - booked a car for a time for home delivery. Needed the car for a long journey and needed to leave by a certain time to make my hotel. No calls - waiting for my car ... time slot comes and passes... i call to enquire where the car is, I am told it will probably be a day late. I confirmed that i needed it for a long journey and if not there by a certain time I would not make it to my hotel reservation some 5 hours drive away. I was promised a car three hours later than my booked slot .... this slot came and this slot went... I called again as still no car. I was informed they had left 20 minutes ago. i explained that i am tight on time and it needed to be here to allow me to actually travel. Waited until that time slot .... still no car .... I had to borrow a relatives vehicle at great inconvenience to them. If i could give 0 stars I would - awful customer service.

Avis has a problem with their web page but once you get your local numbers it works very well.

Very good fares. Location not too accessible, every time I rented a car it went different in terms of getting invoices or not and so
