The single worst hairdressing experience I have ever had! I walked into the salon with mousy brown roots and walked out with grey/white roots! I love spending time and money to look aged. The ‘natural’ blonde look I was hoping for isn’t quite there either - the hairdresser in question has no ability to match shade to skin tone. Her concentration was also all over the place. She was looking over my head into the street while her scissors cruised down the hair that frames my face – I was lucky not to lose an eye! Both her skill level and professionalism were below average. She wandered off and left me waiting to go and chat about her dogs and share photos on her phone with another hairdresser's client for at least 5 minutes while my head was bent back over the sink, and another time to chat to a person who’d wandered in off the street to talk about products for 5-10 minutes. None of these times were while the dye was taking hold I should add. She was using ‘my’ time to ponce about. Just to make it clear: the photos I've uploaded with the grey roots are from 'after' the bad dye job - I did not have grey roots before I went in!
I have never gone out my way to leave a review before but on this occasion I had to. For many years I have struggled to tame my natural curly hair and have been to many salons and tried all kinds of products. I have straightened it a lot over the but recently I have decided to try and embrace my natural hair. I knew I had to start getting a decent cut and find someone who knew what they were doing. I did abit of research and found Ben. I’m so glad I did he did not disappoint! Ben talked me through every product and gave me a few tips when diffusing. I have never seen my hair look so healthy and defined, I could believe it. U left feeling amazing. I will be back for regular cuts without a doubt. He is by far the best hair dresser I have ever came across. The salon had a lovely feel too and everyone was really friendly. Brilliant experience from start to finish. Thank you so much guys.
I take my 7 year old here to get her hair done here, she loves it. Abbie is absolutely lovely and always makes my little anxious girl feel comfortable and happy and she will braid or curl her hair too just the way she wants. My daughter loves going, and would ideally like me to take her every other week. :-ServicesKids' cuts
My hairstylist Millie did an excellent job in making my hair healthy and I knew which products she was putting in my hair, which brought volume and curls. Overall, the whole atmosphere of Aveda Urban Therapy is very calming. The service was excellent, and the value that all of them put in their work is amazing. And the experience of getting your hair treated here is incredible, it feels like you’re in a VIP professional hair salon, it’s an amazing experience. The only thing I would say is it would be really nice if the hair and scalp treatment was always £50.00, as I know more people would come at this price because £60.00 is a bit too pricey, because I want to do this treatment at least more than once. As I would love to do this treatment again for my hair to be even healthier.
Amazing salon! I have curly hair and have zero idea what to do with it. Came in for a trim and some tips on how to style it. Abbie was super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend
I couldn’t recommend Millie and the salon enough!! I’ve bounced from salon to salon trying to find one where the stylist listens and explains what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. Millie made feel at ease and reassured the whole way through my appointment. I felt listened to and I loved the outcome and the care she put into my hair. This was the most positive experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon, thank you!
I asked the hairdresser for a short haircut and showed her a picture. She convinced me to make it longer and after her blow dry it looks fine but when I went back home and dry my hair myself it looks longer than I wished to. I called them and asked if I can cut it little bit shorter, they say I should pay again the full price. I paid £124 for a haircut + hair color already and wanted one inch shorter. I am not happy with the way they treated me.
Came to Alex K for a change up from my thin tired mousey hair, in need of a good chop and some vibrancy! She super friendly and welcoming, listened to what I was looking for and had great advice and insight. I'm absolutely in love with the results, Alex has given my hair a whole new lease of life!! The salon itself is friendly and has a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend!
I was given a very bad hair cut here. I booked specifically saying that I needed a stylist and not just a trimmer. My hair is not your typical, well-behaved, playing-along type, so I always go to people who are skilled and know that different hair types need different haircuts and care. I was promised a stylist, but ... the result was very disappointing. I mean, the pictures speak for themselves ... I asked for layers to add shape and volume to my hair. She's cut it in two layers that do not blend at all ... Naturally, when I left the place, she'd blow-dried my hair into shape so I couldn't tell straight away how bad it was. The three starts are for the receptionist who did her best to book me in again immediately, and even though it didn't work out, she was very helpful and I appreciate it. And one of the starts is for the fact that they use only cruelty-free and vegan products. I believe they can do better next time and I'm eager to update this review with more stars.
I came in to get my grey roots matched in to the rest of my previously dyedwrong colour hair. Alex did an amazing job of matching it all in. She totally understood what I wanted and took lots of time explaining and discussing the process with me. My new hair has made me feel absolutely fabulous. I would highly recommend Alex K. I will definitely be back.
